Have you listened to some of the callers into the postgame shows over the years? This fanbase is filled with bipolar lunatics at the best of times lol.
I’d also get flustered too if I had the same smooth brained reporters asking the same questions every other game.

There’s only so many ways you can say that McDavid is awesome

His swag is back which is great to see. Starting off strong offensively. 9 points in 17 games. Kulak has been great with him so far but imagine if we get an actual top 4 Dman to play with him!

Ekholm Bouchard
Nurse Top 4
Kulak Emberson

SOLID
That plus Kane returning and a lot of guys with a lot more to give offensively. This roster is capable of being dominant when playoffs hit. Would like someone else in net to push Skinner as well or take over for him if he continues to struggle.

Why don't they just stick with

Ekholm Bouchard
Kulak Nurse

?

How much better is Nurse going to ever play than 7 points in 8 games and a +7 rating.

Kulak is having a good year also.

It looks to me that Nurse plays better on his off side, which isn't that shocking given he's kind of a weird player.

Man if we get that type of performance out of Nurse regularly this year I am prepared to eat more crow than any human being on the planet, and I would do it with a smile.

They should honestly play Nurse more 3 on 3. He can skate like a horse in that situation, he's actually pretty good maybe better than Bouchard.

Ladies and gentlemen...Connor McDavid.

Bossy broke 1000 points in 85-86 and 86-87 was his last year. McDavid will soon be the 3rd fastest guy to hit milestone XXX behind only Gretzky and Lemieux. Frankly those two are the only players I have seen in my life time that I think could be reasonably ranked ahead of McDavid in terms of ability.

Is it just me or does Darnell finally look like a 9M defenceman?
It's just you. Nurse is obviously not worth what he's paid (shocker opinion, i know), but it's possible to get more good than bad from him in ideal situations. And maximizing his considerable skill-set is vitally important for this club.

It was a fun game and all hail Connor and all that, but i have lingering concerns:
- Only two forwards can score, despite all the effort made to shore up wingers
- PK is historically bad
- PP is lacking
- Henrique is a non-entity
- Team cannot hold a third-period lead
- Team hasn't yet beaten a good opponent

I agree that Nurse should get overtime duty more often. He's quite effective in that situation.

With how much ice time and opportunities RNH and Hyman get, we really need these guys to do more.

I would put Arvidsson, Henrique and Skinner in here too. Arvidsson is getting more opportunities than Henrique and Skinner though.

Our forwards other than McDrai have been pretty bad. Dissapointing after it was supposed to be a strength.

This is a very good team if more than 2 forwards can get it going. Hopefully it happens soon.

I don’t think so lol but he’s playing better. If he can start playing like a 5-6m dman consistently I would be happy with that. His problems are more in the playoffs than the regular season though . I think hes been more consistent this year which is a good sign. Hes out performing our other 5-6m forwards so theres that too.

Yeah, we're spending a lot of money on Arvidsson, Henrique, Skinner, Hyman, and Nuge for none of them to even be on pace for 35 points this season.

The forward lines are the one thing that has really annoyed me with Knob this year.

RNH-McDavid-Hyman has not worked at all this season. Truthfully it hasn't really worked since the mid point of last season. Yet we keep going back to it. Knoblauch will switch it up for like half a game and then go back to it.

And then we've got Henrique, who in his last couple of seasons with the Ducks was often used as a support winger in the top 6 yet we keep trying to shoehorn him in as a 3rd line C with two 4th line W. He hasn't had a single shift with either McDavid or Draisaitl this season at ES. Not one. For me it's not about rewarding guys or punishing guys. It's just trying to find some combos that might work. Knoblauch seems extraordinarily hesitant to try anything significantly new with the forward group.
