Wasn't impressed with US. They were just too sloppy. They also had a lot of penalties, which is really unfortunate.

By the rules it is defined by birth year(2000 and younger ths time) and the tournament is played in April. Gives there will always be guys who already turned 18.

Very difficult 1st period vs France for Finland.
Finland dominates the game but France's defence and goalie are fighting hard.

Finland also had 5 vs 3 powerplay but unfortunately Finland's players couldn't finish their scoring chances.
It clearly shows this Finnish 2000 born age group isn't so talented and skilled like 1998 and 1999 age groups.
Also it shows Finland doesn't have in this tournament Miro Heiskanen type dman who can quarterback powerplay and keep it simple.

If Finland can't fix those scoring problems on powerplay it'll mean big troubles for Finland in quarterfinals.
 
Wow, Switzerland - 11 shots, 4 goals against USA.

After 2 periods Finland leads vs France 3-0.
Finland goals 1-0 Kaapo Kakko 2-0 Ville Petman 3-0 Konsta Hirvonen.

Kaapo Kakko has 2 points ( 1 goal+ 1 assist)
Finland has been a bit undisciplined especially Kotkaniemi has taken 2 idiotic penalties.
Also Kotkaniemi is trying to do too much by himself.

Kaapo Kakko's 1-0 goal was beauty.
Kakko showed great puck protection skills and stayed well in the puck when he skated around France's net and put puck in empty net. That goal reminded Kasperi Kapanen's overtime goal vs Russia in 2016 world junior gold medal game.​
 
With one defender its difficult to win these games. Appert can pack his bags if he does not get the team play defense. This is ridiculous.
 
Finland wins France 7-0.
There was one team on the ice in 3rd period and it was Finland.

France did not impress by their gameplan and tactics but their goalie was very good.
Finland scored all 7 goals 5 vs 5 which is good but with better luck Finland would have got at least 1 powerplay goal.

Once again Finland took too much idiotic penalties.
This needs to change so soon as possible if Finland wants to go medal games they have to learn to stay out of penalty box.

First real test is ahead on Sunday afternoon vs Russia.
It'll be much different game than Slovakia and France and if Finland wants to win Russia they can't take lots of penalties.

Damn, 4:1 in 15th minute and we cannot watch that :-(. Another goal fiesta? There is a online-text-commentary on sme.sk and it seems that Czechs had not converted some good scoring chances.
 
Good god, just relegate this Czech team. That's even worse than how 98s did.
To think 2000 is the generation that gets to play at home WJC in 2020... f***.

EDIT: Actually, hopefully Czechs grind a win against France to stay in the top group. 01s are much better and don't deserve to play a tier lower.

Not finished yet. Your goalie seems to have rough day, and on the other hand our is saving our day till now. It can change quickly I'm afraid.
 
At least we don't have to get upset, because it was a terrible start. According onlajny text commentary a typical czech story: many great chances but no goals. Moreover 5 minut major penalty and we will play with just 5 D for the rest of the match.

Yeah that's another thing. Great job by the management to leave off two players for no reason.
