Difficult 1st period for Finland vs Slovakia.
Finland leads 1-0 but also Slovakia plays well this game won't be easy for Finland.

Finland's powerplay isn't working so well as expected.
It clearly shows there's no Miro Heiskanen type dman in Finland's defence who can quarterback powerplay.

Finland's goal 01:50 Leevi Aaltonen assisted by Arttu Nevasaari and Anton Lundell.
Goalies saves Slovakia 12 Finland 6.

After 2 periods Finland leads Slovakia 3-2.
Finland took 2-0 lead when Niklas Nordgren scored powerplay goal.

After Nordgren's goal Finland had good pressure in the offensive zone and they created few scoring chances.
Finland's lineup lost the puck and slovakia got a steal which caused breakaway goal for Slovakia.

Then Lenni Killinen takes really idiotic penalty and Slovakia ties the game 2-2.
Finland took 1 one goal lead back when Anton Lundell scored powerplay for Finland.

Lundell is right at the moment best player of the game he's been involved all Finland's 3 goals ( 1 goal 2 assists)
Goalies saves after 2nd period Slovakia 26 ( 12+14) Finland 8 ( 6+2).

Finland looks very sloppy. Bad passes everywhere, losing nearly every battle for puck. Skilled plays too, but they need to be better.

Did I hear right, Anton Lundell is Jan Lundell's kid?

Finland won 5-2.
I didn't watch the first two periods, but Finland looked downright awful at times in the third. As I said, far too many passes without a receiver, and far too many lost puck battles. The last couple minutes looked slightly better, but I didn't like that period as a whole despite outscoring the opponent 2-0. If they keep giving the puck away at the blue line like that, this team will have a bad time.

Finland wins Slovakia 5-2.
Slovakia had great scoring chances and good pressures in Finland's defensive zone during 3rd period but Justus Annunen was very good and took some big saves when it was needed.

Finland had a lot bad passes and they also lost a lot board battles for losing pucks.
Especially Anttoni Honka was really nervous almost every time when he had puck.

Finland also took too many idiotic penalties.
Anton Lundell was player of the game having 4 point ( 1 goal 3 assists) game not bad for a player who's year younger than his teammates.

Finland's next game is tomorrow vs France.
Goalies saves end of the game Slovakia 32 ( 12+14+6) Finland 19 ( 6+2+11)

Ty, that kid is going to get so much attention.

Hopefully Anton stays to HIFK playing with pro hockey in Finland is better than go to CHL.
I don't know does he already have a liiga contract with HIFK but if he doesn't have hopefully Tobias Salmelainen ( HIFK's new GM) signs Anton so soon as possible.

Watching CAN-USA, Merkley and Dellandrea have looked pretty good so far. Ty Smith has been bad, never liked him as a prospect and he's been useless so far on both sides of the puck. Wearing the C for what it's worth.

On USA lots of players have looked good, Wilde with a big hit and some nice plays from Wise, Farabee, Caufield. Ty Emberton looks very smart and smooth on the back end, underrated player. Jack Hughes has surprisingly not been great thus far, made a pass to no one into the slot and skated himself into the corner one time. I imagine he'll get it together though.
