Hopefully Anton stays to HIFK playing with pro hockey in Finland is better than go to CHL.
I don't know does he already have a liiga contract with HIFK but if he doesn't have hopefully Tobias Salmelainen signs Anton so soon as possible.
This is OT in this thread, but you're clearly HIFK fan so do you've any inside info about Niilo Halonen. Does he have any potential to get drafted this summer in NHL? I've read that Jan Lundell is his goaltender coach, so there must be some potential why he has been playing U-20 HIFK.

Niilo Halonen

What a terrible offside call against USA, that wasnt even close. Overall USA was just too sloppy today, the 2-3 weeks off really showed. Penalties, defense, turnovers, and DeRidder never bailed any one out.

Great game from Canada. Rough day defensively for USA, especially Wilde. Hopefully DeRidder has a short leash.

Ellis was much better than DeRidder today. Also defense was awful today. Too many mistakes and its ridiculous that Canada scored six goals today. It just shows how bad our defense was today. Ellis was man of the match for me.

Watching CAN-USA, Merkley and Dellandrea have looked pretty good so far. Ty Smith has been bad, never liked him as a prospect and he's been useless so far on both sides of the puck. Wearing the C for what it's worth.

On USA lots of players have looked good, Wilde with a big hit and some nice plays from Wise, Farabee, Caufield. Ty Emberton looks very smart and smooth on the back end, underrated player. Jack Hughes has surprisingly not been great thus far, made a pass to no one into the slot and skated himself into the corner one time. I imagine he'll get it together though.
Funny about Hughes though, he goes seemingly unnoticed and ends up with 3 points

Liam Foudy's stock is rising. CS moved him up big time. Since he has shown what he could do in London, he has been a standout. Not sure if he plays C at the next level but that speed is noticeable. McShane had a good game. Unbeaten in the faceoff circle.

I thought a lot of the Canadians looked solid.
That tying goal was something sweet - 16 years old and so good already!
Foudy looks fast on the big ice. Ellis was fortunate a few times, but on the whole terrific.
McBain looked fine, but was on left wing - I though he played center at Hlinka and with Toronto this year?
No Veleno today - I can imagine the team looking even better next game.
They should feel pretty good pulling off a victory over the USA, who for my money was the faster team overall.

This may be a stupid question but how are 18 year olds allowed to play in this tournament if the tournament is classified as the U18?

I was really impressed by him. Had never seen him play before, but he was subtly quite shifty and elusive, and showed some smart decision making.

For people who watched fin-svk game, how did cajkovic play? He was 1+1 but i didn’t see the game.
Also how did Knazko who is the youngest skater in the tournament play? All I know is he had an assist, I believe he’s playing top 4 ice time

IIHF uses the January 1st - December 31st calendar regardless of when the tournament takes place. For example, the U-20's has players turn 20 during the tournament but they remain eligible, it is just not as noticeable because only 8 days really fall into that category. So, if you are U-18 as of January 1st, 2018 you are eligible to play.

Really liked Cam Hillis. Smart player, and a great pass on the Bahl goal

McIsaac looked rough, and Smith was mostly good with some very bad as well. Probably just rust though, everyone should be better once the tourney gets into full swing.
