Woops, got mixed up with 2019 eligible and 2001 born haha. Damn Y2K kids making me confused :D

2020 eligible yes, but I actually meant 2001 born. I should probably just have written U17 instead hehe. Either way, very impressive.
You certainly caused some fun here ;-)

Majority of 2000 born players stagnated. Last year it was looking like a solid, competetive group. Malik, Zabransky, Dajcar, Gajarsky, Dluhos, Klejna, Blumel... didn't make much progress though.
If I had to guess, we will see only four Czech 00 born players drafted this year (Lauko, Jenik, Pekar and Dostal) which is obviously terrible. We can thank the late 99s for making the 2018 draft interesting for Czech fans.

4 would be pretty good... toss in Zadina, maybe Skarek... 6 is about our average lately which makes me sad. Oh yeah, Kaut!

Agreed about the names you mentioned, I kept hearing good things about them but not much this year and now we need to beat France for the honour of playing Canada, US or Sweden in Quarters.

That refs from Russia and France have won the game for Sweden. 11 minor penalties for Belarus players, 4 in a row in the 3rd period. Such a big hockey nation like Sweden should be ashamed to get a win solely because of zebras.

Ashamed? Did "Sweden" call those penalties?

You know Sweden can't decline a powerplay, right?

Sweden has to be ashamed because they scored only 1 ES goal against a team like Belarus. The score was even at the beginning of the 3rd period before the refs started the parade to the penalty box for Belarus players. And Belarus has no one among 152 European players on CENTRAL SCOUTING pre-draft rankings.

That's not what you wrote initially but whatever. Canada only had 1 more SOG than Belarus yesterday, with 4 more minutes of PP.

Still they can immediatelly win faceoff, pass puck to their goalie, who would throw it over the glass ASAP
I would appreciate if team USA do it too. Unless they dont want to be concidered as a big hockey nation.
Cause we will likely play too much on PK again.

Should be two great early games tomorrow

Kupari won't make it in time for tomorrow's game but will be with Finland for the rest of the tournament

Switched to SWE-BLR and wow Belarus looks pretty good. In the last 8 minutes or so they outplayed Sweden and deservedly got the lead.
The Czech loss against them in the prep. stage doesn't look all that crazy anymore.

What do you mean switched? Where are you finding these games? TSN is showing the Canada pool but not the Czech one.

I looked at the stats and what I found interesting is the Hughes has 6 points but is even (plus/minus) and Wahlstrom has 4 points and is -1.
Not the numbers you would expect.
Are they scoring mostly on power play or are they getting scored on a lot at even strength?

A bit of both. Wahlstrom has three power play goals on which Hughes has also assisted. Aside from that only the one even strength assist for Wahlstrom.

But this is just two games and the result is virtually meaningless. The US was exposed by Canada and in their second game even fell behind to Switzerland 5-4 before storming back. It appears they have some defensive issues.
