McKenzie had Kotkaniemi at 18 in his mid season rankings. If he doesn't crack top 10 I would not take him in top 6. Last guy who rose dramatically late in year topped off by great u18 was Kostitsyn. He was good player but man did we ever pass on talent on that mistake. Corey Perry, Praise, etc...
Kostitsyn had health issue, not the case with Kotkaniemi...

He was 10th pre-lottery.

Huberdeau and Scheifele were huge risers at the same point.

My Draftwired. I'd be delighted if it worked out this way. Lots of centermen and PMD. Comments?

Philip Zadina RW 3
Ty Dellandrea C 35
Ryan Merkley RD 38
Nicolas Beaudin LD 56
Aidan Dudas C 62
Blade Jenkins C 66
Cam Hillis C 97
Scott Perunovitch LD 102
Ivan Morozov C 101
Xavier Bouchard 128

Where do I sign? Hillis at 128.....:naughty:
I've noticed that every simulation there's a random faller in the last rounds. At least one guy will be around in round 4 that was projected to go in round 2.

Still, for the handful of simulations I've ran, it's always been a crazy good haul. Is the draft really this deep? Lol

It's deep with late first/early second level talent..... If that makes sense lol.

You could be the smart one, relaxing by the fire with a cold one while the rest of us are pulling our hair out watching bad pick after bad pick, with maybe the odd bad trade mixed in

I couldn't care less about the draft. I'm just here to watch a W3K meltdown whenever it is that MB veers into the abyss. :sarcasm:

However, with my luck, the site will be down and we'll all be having a meltdown anyway, on account of it.

McKenzie had him at 10th in late April (https://www.tsn.ca/the-big-four-solidify-spots-in-tsn-draft-ranking-1.1066345)

So good chance he has him even higher now. When McKenzie released the list in April, it was in the middle of the U18 Worlds, before the semi-finals and finals where Kotkaniemi had another two great games posting 1 goal and 2 assists in those two games.

Following that plus McKenzie doing his due diligence by speaking to scouts and watching games himself, there is reason to believe he has Kotkaniemi even higher now.

I'll be online for all the meltdowns!!!:naughty:

As I posted elsewhere, FC's prelim. list for 2019, has 6 Centers ranked in their top 10 and 9 Centers in their top 16OA: FC Hockey | 2019 NHL Draft Ranking

If the Habs are looking to add any further 1st round picks, they ought to be in 2019.

Next years draft is always better than this years lol

What does that even mean? Is this suppose to discredit my opinion about what I just stated in any way? It is a matter of comparing and projecting, I prefer the options at #3 for 2019 draft. Kakko is already pretty much on par with Kotka if not better despite the age difference... I wouldn't trade the 2018 2nd overall for the 2019 one though. It is too early to say that 2019 is flat out better, but considering the drop in value this year at 3rd overall (compare to first/2nd overall), I would rather have that pick next year which look promising at that spot. What are your thoughts on this?

Kakko is tracking similarly to Zadina... wait a year to know whats up. Aside from Hughes theres no sure thing.
