I don’t get what Domi has to do with Tkachuk. If anything, the trade is about focusing more on speed, so Hughes might be the guy.

I believe the correlation is they both had fathers who played in the NHL. Bergevin isn't going for skill. He's going for bloodlines. I could be wrong.

Ah yes. Bloodlines. Who had NHL bloodlines on the team last year? Kerby Rychel? Played a whole 4 games.

Who have they drafted in the 1st round with NHL bloodlines? Jarred Tinordi 8 years ago?

Come on people.

Obviously Bergy values karakter and grit grindyness over skill and being good at hockey......add on his infatuation for bloodlines...... And with the third overall selection in the twenty eighteen NHL every draft, the Montreal is proud to select from Boston University.....

The trade is about "attitude" and "playing the right way" at the expense of being good at hockey or having skills. Tkachuk is that type of player, in which you ask what they are good at and all you get are statements like "A GUY YOU WIN WITH', "TOUGH TO PLAY AGAINST", "HE'S A HOCKEY PLAYER"

Ahh, so he doesn't have any talent and he's hard to play against because he skirts the line of the rules while losing on the scoresheet every night

This was someone's immediate reaction to the trade.
Max is awesome, way more passionate than Galchy, he's a great passer with a lot of character! I love this trade, Alex may be more skilled, but it wasn't working, lets bring some passion in Montreal come on!

And just about every other posts mentioning Domi as the more physical. You get the point.

Zadina doesnt make this team better, all it does is pull us towards bubble and away from thr 1st OA.
Yeaa, but you need skills and goal scorer in a team. .. and we dont have any anymore.

Patch is a lazy goal scorer, with no skill.

Before this trade we needed C ans LD.

Now we need C, LD, and goal winger scorer

F***** MB

The habs need a lot more than a goalscoring winger in the hierarchy of things. Address the hardest ones first then we can look at filling in with goalscoring wingers.

It's gonna be Tkachuk. You just know that's the direction they are going. Full ****** into guys with average skill and a stupid reputation that makes no sense.

DOMI and TKACHUK are guys you win with even though neither of them have won anything outside of their countries super teams!!!

I’m here for W3K meltdowns, I need entertainment and he’s already gotten the ball rolling. :D

Best case scenario is to see us get as many first rounders as we can get next year. It would also make it likely that a new GM would not be as handcuffed.

The only bloodlines I want right now is Hughes and Hughes.

The guy doesn’t play defense. He’s a rover. If Bergevin couldn’t handle Subban, good luck with Hughes. You need a more progressive manager and coach to draft a guy like Hughes.

We have two of those (coaches), one in Laval and one behind the bench waiting for Julien to get sacked.

If we're lucky, perhaps a new manager by next season.

I think this deal sets up a Zadina at 3 (to replace Galchenyuk) and then Pacioretty for Kotkaniemi deal (with spare parts to fill it out).

In some time we could see a top 6 of

Drouin-Kotkaniemi-Zadina
Domi-Poehling-Gallagher

I had a really weird dream last night and it felt so real. Dahlin went 1st, Svech went 2nd and then we took Boqvist at 3:skeptic:

The Qvist wouldn't disappoint me.

We're going to get a player but the focus, concern and even prayer should be about what will he be surrounded with?

More patches and plugs designed to make the playoffs? Scary.

Lies. Hughes is good defensively. Not great but good. Was one of the best plus minus players on his NCAA team..... How does that happen if he's a bad defensively pp specialist like everyone that doesn't watch him stereotypes him as?
Totally agree about the progressive coaching/ management though.

I would have been fine with Boqvist at 3 until I heard about the concussions. Now its either Zadina, Dobson or Kotkaniemi for me.

The thing about players with talent if we select them is, you can't even enjoy them since you know they are gonna be traded for a lesser player in a couple seasons.

You’re assuming Bergevin has job security beyond next season. Luckily, we have a better development coach and by the time new prospects graduate to the NHL, there is a likelihood that it will be under a new GM.

How confident are you now that the Habs should be making deals at the draft?
