btw what is wrong with Stamkos' face... its like melted wax. I think he has a really serious disease that has gone undiagnosed.

Meh, their fanbase *****baggery over Carter is petulant and annoying.

I’d rather see the Islanders or Caps prevail from the East.
We benefited from seeing the good Carter, we are now seeing the Carter they saw after paying a haul for him. Would you be happy with him playing like he is now (And then, for them) for what they paid?

I can forgive the Hickey pick because that 2007 draft was notoriously weak.

The Forbort and Teubert picks were a result of Dean’s personal drafting philosophy. Big lumbering defenseman who were never scouted as having high end skill upside. Forbort’s ceiling comparable was Rob Scuderi at the time of the draft. Why Dean felt compelled to take a player like that in the 1st round is beyond me. Very, very few shutdown defensemen taken in the first round ever amounted to more than a depth player. I mean, look no further than Toronto taking Luke Schenn so high in the 2008 draft.

I’ve argued with a lot of people on this forum about not criticizing Dean too much with the help of revisionist drafts. But the Forbort and Teubert picks were eyebrow raising even at the time.

My entire point with all this is that the Kings are not in a position to simply collect low ceiling prospects. If they’re going to be this bad, they need to hit a home run in the top five. Podkolzin has a better chance to be a home run than any of Turcotte/Dach/Cozens/etc. logjam between picks #4 - 9.

And for the record, I would be more inclined to select Turcotte over Pod if Turcotte didn’t have an injury history.

I love tough guys and the league was still tough back then. Teubert had that--supposedly--and had good pedigree but it was definitely a case of not taking BPA. I wanted Myers there for sure but was okay with the Teubert pick at the time as Voynov the next day made things feel better.

Then Teubs fought Taylor Pyatt in pre-season at Staples and got dropped haha. It was obvious he wasn't as tough as advertised. Guy was billed as a monster and got killed in this fight. Knew it was bust city at that point.

Tough shit for them, glad he played well for us when we won both Cups. He’s coasting now but, so is the rest of this group.

Let it go already, it was what, 7 years ago? Jeebus. Time to move along, Cbus.

CBJ has never won a playoff series. Carter was a total bitch when he went there so I get it: we would crucify the guy as well.

Mainly, they are partly responsible for the two Cup Banners hanging in Staples. I'm all on board for them coming out of the East. Islanders have Cups and the Caps just won last year. CBJ is probably going to be trash after losing all these guys in the off season as well so let's see it happen.

Plus the NHL would HATE a SCF that includes Columbus. I'm all for the NHL getting the shaft after this lottery fiasco.

I still dislike Blake.

Roenick is still disliked on this board. Same with Sean Avery.

This is after getting to witness two Cups. All CBJ has right now is salt. I totally get it.

Columbus trying to become the first team to ever sweep a President's Trophy winner in the first round. GD Kings I can't believe they let Vancouver win a game in 2012. ;)

It's always good when a fan base who has been around for 20 years to see their team experience some success. Good for Columbus, and good for the NHL.

Sure, they have been loyal through some lean years. All good they are likely going to advance barring a total collapse.

I completely agree with you. Every fan base in the world would be pissed it a star player did what Carter did. Made it even worse since he killed it for the Kings, won two cups with them, and the pieces Columbus got were shit.

Vasilevskiy keeping Tampa Bay in the game with save after save on Columbus odd man rushes.
