Keane had a goal today.

Lakatoš had an assist.

Virta had a goal. 4 points in his last 4 games.

Yesterday, Wall allowed 4 goals on 17 shots for the L.

Pajuniemi with a goal yesterday. He's at 2-4-6 in 8 games since coming back. Kakko leaving for the WJC has been huge for Pajuniemi.

Also yesterday, Shesterkin grabbed the W but only stopped 12 of 14 shots.

Rangers need to get bigger with their right handed defenseman. Pionk is not big and DeAngelo is small. I don't want a defense with 3, 5'11 defenseman. The team is already looking better since McQuaid came back. I'd love it they found a way to dump Shattenkirk but I don't see it. I'm hoping Gorton goes package deals with his trades to get more. Package McQuaid with a Namestnikov to Pitt for a first. They are looking for help on D and with handling Wilson who McQuaid has pummeled in the past. Perhaps Zucc and DeAngelo to a team for a first and NHL ready prospect. I'd like the Rangers to have at least 3 to 4 first rounders this draft. Then the team should be in good shape going forward provided they pick players that the team needs. Like right handed forwards and defenseman instead of ignoring that like they have for a decade. While DeAngelo is righty handed, I don't like his game. Never have. I would rather they brought back a righty defenseman with size, who plays a safe, stay at home game and is under the age of 24.

I think they guy they should target is Dante Fabbro. Nashville is loaded on D but they are missing something up front this year. They simply don't score enough. I think if you send them Zucc and Namestnikov you should be able to get Fabbro, a first and probably a 2020 second rounder. I'm good with that.
Problem is, at this stage, they'd get maybe two 2nd rounders for him and a bottom-six W... but we haven't seen the old Shattenkirk since early last season, so there's a very good chance that's the best we'll get for him.

Problem is this board has about 50 wanna be scouts who give scouting reports and have no idea what they are talking about. If they did, they would be working as scouts.

Maybe you should look for the hockey site where all the 'real' scouts are posting. Tell us when you find it--I'd like to check it out too.

But really anyone who has followed the NHL draft for any length of time should understand that when you draft 18 year olds that a lot of shit can happen and sometimes they're just not going to work out as expected....just like anyone knows that sending an 18 year old off to college--no matter how high his/her grades doesn't always mean they're going to have their noses in their books 24/7 or that they'll graduate 4/5 years later or even get a good job. 18 years old might qualify as an adult under the criminal code but doesn't necessarily qualify as mature.

I'm glad we have so many scouts that work for our organization that post on these boards. Our draft is in good hands. I think I'll listen to Gordie and that's about it.

On a sincere note, obviously anybody posting here is biased in some way, and is (most likely) not employed by the Rangers, but I find the insight in this thread to be very valuable. Its a helpful way to keep up on things when I personally am not able to keep track of these players myself. Thanks to those of you who take time out of your days to do so.

"Watching him at the rink this year, I just couldn't believe it," Clark said. “The overall confidence of his game, his handling of the puck, the moving of the puck and his body, the way he's built muscles. He knows he has to put on weight, but he doesn't want to do it just pumping iron. He wants to do it naturally and he has a great build on him. He's really developing well."
Gordie Clark to NHL.com on Dylan Mcilrath

From Adam Herman's twitter - Gordie Clark said that Ryan Gropp was the sixth-highest ranked forward on #NYR's list. As in, including the 1st-round.
