Probably true that Kravtsov is better in the d-zone; but when a guy is putting up near P/GP in the KHL at 19 (?), I will be very forgiving of a lack of defensive game.
And Chery's game promised to translate exceptionally well. Not saying that Kravtsov's won't, but all of the hefty projections we had for Cherepanov weren't being placed on a false idol. The kid wasn't just finessing his way onto the scoreboard; he was getting to the dirty areas while he was putting numbers comparable to Malkin and Ovechkin.
