Rangers fans still seething about the 3rd goal.

And the brunt of the contact was made after the puck was past Lundqvist, not to mention how much of a dope McDonagh was on that play (and seemed to be on the ice for every Kings goal). Remember when Rangers fans were trying to convince everyone that McDonagh was just as good as Doughty?

Was it him or Girardi that blew their tire and turned the puck over for a game winner?

Boston didn't play very inspired hockey last night. St. Louis wanted it more and got a huge break with the officiating.

To be fair you got a point. However that call would have been made if Boston wasn't embellishing left and right. Acciari took himself out of the play when bozak tripped him. We get mad at Doughtys antics when things don't go his way. If anyone should be on the pyre it's the Bruins who have been getting the favorable calls all series, and embellishing left and right.

If Acciari didn't act like he got decapitated and rejoined the play the blues might have not scored.

how can I forget Machinehead's "expert" analysis

For a while there, the Blues were the most physical team the Kings were meeting in the playoffs. They played a similar style and were no joke to go up against. They kind of ran into the Kings buzzsaw, but they always put up a fight, and an honest one without all the dirty plays and diving crap.

Really want to see them pull this out, that franchise as earned it with what they've overcome this year. And yes, it took me a long time to get over that Courtnall debacle.

He definitely went in hard on Drew back in the day, but he sticks up for him over anyone now. So I give him props for being a guy who is open-minded beyond 99% of this forum, his views have been malleable.

Love those "black and blue" series, had a very good rivalry with them those two years, no dirty hate, just clean, HARD play. That's what hockey can look like when guys are held accountable (edit: for protecting themselves. Guys knew they were going to hit and be hit--no one turned away from a hit or their back to the play to draw calls. Pietrangelo did in 2012 and well all learned better haha).

Those Blues teams were really good. They even outplayed the Kings for stretches in the playoffs like no other opponent could. Quick was amazing.
Their problem has been inconsistent goaltending. Not sure this years team is that much better than the Backes Oshie years. They did lack some finish on those teams but maybe because coaching had the forwards play a bit more defensive minded and they had a cloud over them not to make mistakes.

They also told us Lundqvist was better than Quick.

If you ever want to lead a Rangers fan in circles until they have an aneurysm, tell them Quick is better than Lundqvist. They'll inevitably talk about his long-term regular season save percentage. The moment they bring that up, tell them QUick outplayed him head-to-head. They'll lose their shit, then you can point out he had a better save % in that series. Then they'll start talking about the quality of saves vs. save percentage...then you've got em. Rinse, repeat.

If it wasn't obvious to everyone in the world that Quick was a better money goalie than Lundqvist after that series, well...

Boston very opportunistic in capitalizing on the 5-on-3 power play, but if the overall play from the first period continues the rest of the game, it's just a matter of time before St. Louis ties it up.

Brad Marchand hooking a downed David Perron's face in a scrum from behind all the refs is straight out of the Matthew Tkachuk playbook of cowardly shit that has no place in the game.

If the Blues win tonight or in Game 7 they will be the final 1967 expansion team to win a Stanley Cup. In order the expansion six winners:

1. Philadelphia Flyers
2. Pittsburgh Penguins
3. Minnesota (Dallas) Stars
4. Los Angeles Kings

List of defunct and relocated National Hockey League teams - Wikipedia

The California Golden Seals moved to Cleveland after nine seasons in the San Francisco Bay Area to become the Cleveland Barons; this was the first time in four decades the NHL approved a franchise relocation.[11] Two years later, after failed overtures towards merging with the Washington Capitals and the Vancouver Canucks, the Barons merged with the North Stars.[12] The Barons are the only NHL team to merge operations with another one.[13] The North Stars relocated to Dallas in 1993 to become the Stars.

I guess technically you could say the Minnesota North Stars and the California Golden Seals shared the Dallas cup. You could also say neither the bay area or Minnesota have ever won a cup. That's fine by me.

Let's see if the Blues can get another one, and make it really interesting.

Who’s the f***stick that threw the half full beer can across the ice? That could have injured someone and more importantly it’s a waste of beer!
