Blues absolutely dominating this game at even strength, but their atrocious special teams(or the Bruins f***ing amazing special teams) has the game tied up.

These two teams remind me of how we used to play during our Cup winning years.

That 3 minute or so forecheck by the Blues in the 2nd period was vintage 2012 Kings style puck possession domination. That Kings team would do like 3 line changes while keeping the puck in the opposing zone gassing the other team.

Watching that made me so happy, just beautiful f***ing hockey.

The Bruins do play with speed and skill more so than the Blues.

I think there’s some misconception attached to the 2018/19 Bruins edition being a ‘heavy’ team. They did attempt a heavy game against the Leafs at points of that series in Round 1 (which seems like a long time ago) but they were not overly effective and ended up winning that series using their speed and skill which is what they have done for a large part of the playoffs in getting to this point.

If you look at the Bruins overall forward group minus a guy like Backes, and maybe DeBrusk (I think he’s typecast because his old man was a slug, the kid has hands and skates pretty well) it’s not one that plays heavy big bodied, grind it out hockey as their bread and butter.

I think the Blues emulate more of that heavy hickey club who will grind you down to a pulp like the Kings were those SC years. The Blues not the quickest bunch but, after you are finished playing them, your sore and spent.

Minus that top line it’s not the most skilled collection of forwards. Lots of lunch bucket guys littered throughout in Blais, Maroon, Sundqvist, Batbashev, Steen, Sanford, Thomas (when healthy), etc.

Dunn and Sundqvist (good pk’er) being back is huge for the Blues.

Good rebound game by Binnington. The kid seems very cerebral and has a confidence about him that I think rubs off on the rest of the club. I think he’s something like 13-2 now after a loss. Very impressive.

What a nice little play by Williams, took his time to spot the shot for an easy goal, rather than getting so nervous and seize up or just shoot it blindly into the goalies chest.

I was at this game with my Dad; it's definitely my fondest memory of Kings hockey (and the only Kings playoff game I've ever seen in person). Doughty had that excellent move off the blueline for a goal that game too.

In the moment, it would've been great to not go down 2-0 before that, but it definitely made for a better finish.

We apparently made a deal with the Devil for that run and are now paying for it.

Three home games in the SCF. All go to OT with Games 2 and 5 going to double overtime. Kings win all of them with Game 5 being the Cup-clincher and with the extra bonus of being on a Friday night, just like Game 7 against Anaheim.

Was at every home game except Game 3 against Anaheim but also went to Games 1 and 7 at Honda Center. What a run. What a party.

99% certain nothing will top that run. Will not be surprised if it is another 40 years of Kings hockey like the 40 prior to 2012.

The Kings had two goals leads heading into the third period this season? Seemed more like 90% of games had the Kings down after 40 minutes.

I just looked it up.

When the Kings trailed after the first period, they lost 28/31 games.

When the Kings trailed after the second period, they lost 39/41 games.

When the Kings lead after the first period, they won 13/15 games.

When the Kings lead after the second period, they won 20/24 games.

The Kings were undefeated when leading after the third!
