Sharks are great punishers of mistakes, but that seems to be all they do. If you play disciplined enough and minimize your mistakes, they don't do much.

Probably taken at the Shark tank bathrooms.

Karlsson is playing on one leg and looks terrible (for him). I don't think he's player that is going to age well. He was a superstar because he was simply so much more talented than just about anyone else, but his game sense isn't at the levels of guys who played forever like Leetch, Bourque, Lidstrom. He will still get the contract he wants this summer because if he returns to form you are getting a 1st Ballot HOF type talent for money only. But if he doesn't get back his previous explosiveness it's going to be an awful contract for someone.

The Blues are looking resilient. This series will probably one-goal games the rest of the way. Go Blues!!

Karlsson may get the contract he is seeking 7-8 years for $70M+, but it will be a huge mistake for the GM giving it to him.

I agree. And feel that way about Doughty, that's why I would have moved him. There is just to much downside to signing guys nearing 30 to that type of deal.

Doughty’s just about the only guy I’m not worried about signing a deal like that. One underrated aspect of Doughty’s game - similar to Kopitar, actually - is his durability. Doughty’s most underrated skill is his ability to avoid contact without selling out on the play. Not to mention, his skillset doesn’t rely on footspeed or strength. He’s the smartest player on the ice (just don’t listen to his interviews) and you don’t lose something like that.

exactly how i feel about him, he's got the intuition a lot of players are lacking

yeah maybe the footspeed will go with time but he can become a suter/mitchell type defenseman quite easily

Yep, he's had one bad season, which coincidentally happened when virtually everyone on the entire team did. Doughty's game is not predicated on speed or fast twitch skills. I'm not saying he's going to age like Chris Chelios, but I bet he'll age as well or better than Blake, who was still a good NHL defenseman at age 36.
