Naw it looked like an innocuous play but hitting a rut like that is one of those classic acl/mcl thingies.what the hell happened to siegs
I watched the replay but didn't see anything crazy? am I missing something
Cotter earned his flowers. 12 goals, playing a physical game, big shootout goal to get the boys going.
Hes been a solid acquisition.
Vegas has lost their last 6 games against Metro teams. Let's make it 7 Thursday.Vegas lost to the Isles tonight. That game can be won Thursday.
Funny that before the game, someone said they wanted Rakel, and the guy scored almost all the goals tonight. Kicked one in (waived off), kicked in Jack's goal, scored on the wraparound, scored one of the two shootout goals.
One of the best things of this pretty embarrassing win was that it might push the Pens into seller territory.
I could see Rakel or Rust as nice, annoying, playoff-type triggerman/netfront to move someone in our top six down... And not too pricey for the goalscoring...
dougie won this shoot outI think Timo won us our last shootout as well right? In 2022-2023 in Washington? Same type of goal I believe.
yeah, we're down our 2nd most important player and our (very good) starting goalie limping into an extended layoff. No win is "pretty embarrassing", especially at this point in the year. Bank points any way you can and get to the break.
We also played the whole game down our best defensive player. We needed 30 minutes from Luke and 26 from Dillon.yeah, we're down our 2nd most important player and our (very good) starting goalie limping into an extended layoff.
points are points and points are nice. i'll worry about form around deadline time.
OT is fine. Most games get decided in 5 mins and when it doesn't we want more 3 on 3. Solve boring low event 5 on 5 before tinkering with 3 on 3.
For as much as I don't like it, it is pretty exciting.God I hate the shootout
i hate the shootout as much as everyone else but last night was exciting partly because it went on a while usually its over in 3 rounds or less and you dont build up any excitement. you can't start with a 5 rounds but i think if the shootouts went naturally to say round 7/8 a lot more people would like it.For as much as I don't like it, it is pretty exciting.
And I hate it a lot less when we win it.
So another example of bad ice from that game.he went to dump the puck and on the one foot shoot-in he caught and edge and it folded under on him 90 degrees to the side and he fell into the boards. It hurt and he wasn't putting weight on it.
It was the right knee he fell on that he was limping on.

From the moment that arena opened the terrible ice in Pittsburgh has been an issue. I remember there being some press about at that time, many years ago, and there was even an official effort to improve it. Maybe they did but it's never been resolved to the point that they are not one of the worst surfaces in hockey. When it results, as it did last night in a potentially catastrophic injury to a player who's just skating along the boards, it's scandalous. I don't know why the NHL can't have some minimum standards and a way of enforcing them.So another example of bad ice from that game.
Bouncing pucks is one thing, but when guys are falling all over the place that should initiate some measures to get that ice up to standards.
Is there any talk on Pitt's board regarding the ice?
Ice shouldn't be that difficult. Especially in Pitt. Cold temps. No NBA. Does a college play ball there? From the moment that arena opened the terrible ice in Pittsburgh has been an issue. Seigs confirmed dead yet? Will he start as day to day and shift to week to week after a month of day to day?
