Didn't see any of the game today as I was out with my family, but man am I going to enjoy the highlights of this one.

Seems like my grandson's favorite video is in order. Joe Thornton playing the role of Grandpa Shark.

The most important game of the season and you crap the bed 5-0. Yeah, the Sharks are not contenders.

Couture embodies the San Jose mentality:

that's got to top the crybaby list of crybaby things to say by couture

wow

how pathetic

Their head coach is one of the biggest whiners behind the bench, Sharks players always act like they’re victimized, and their fan base is chock full of overgrown crybabies.

Watching them meltdown is highly satisfying.

Kane being an Ahole jabbing the goalie, then getting tossed pretty summed it up. 14 min in pims for being a sore loser.
They are a mentally weak team and it starts with their coach.

Joe Thornton is and always will be a piece of ****.

Totally underrated as a piece of shit.

I do enjoy him off the ice and he's had a hell of a career, but he's an underrated scumbag. So it's fun watching the "Joe Thornton deserves a Cup" narrative get slapped around because I can't think of a more undeserving player. This is his FIRST TIME scoring THREE goals in a playoff run, let that sink in. I don't care what kind of playmaker you are, if it takes you 20 years to tie Kyle Clifford's best goal scoring playoffs (which he hit in 6 games, by the way), you're in a heap of shit.

Couture has been clutch as hell on ice and has been a leader there--which is what makes his smarmy, whiny comments make him look like such a chode. How can you be so good on the ice and so mentally fragile off? Oh, you learned from the best.

Joe Thornton's role may be reduced, but he's now the hood ornament on the chokemobile instead of the driver.

Mic drop.

Today was so fun watching the Sharts get destroyed mentally and physically.

I don't see any feasible way they win on Tuesday, but we shall see?

Thornton still has a higher goals per game in the playoffs, over a larger sample size, than Clifford. I get where you're trying to go, and I support it, but, you're going a bit too far.

Sadly it only goes back as far as '08 which leaves off a decade of Joe's career, but Clifford has a .45 goals per 60, Thornton a .46. Kyle has 1.7 points/60, Thornton 1.56.

I'm leery of rates particularly between 1st and 4th liners but if you're going to look at 'per game' it has to be adjusted somehow.

All I'm saying is there's a reason Joe is considered grand marshal of the choke parade and all this talk about him 'deserving' anything as if he's Ray Bourque or something is tripe.

If the Sharks don't survive, this could really facilitate a change because the rumors are that Karlsson will not be back and Thornton is pretty much on his last legs. This could start to resemble the Kings when they turned downward and didn't really acknowledge it until they were cooked in the pot. They have some serious contracts to consider:

UFA's

Donskoi
Karlsson
Pavelski
Nyquist
Thornton

RFA's

Meier
LaBlanc

That's a lot of talent. They are not going to look the same next year.

"Sharks face tough odds
The Sharks will have to join the 2014 Los Angeles Kings to become the second NHL team to win three Game 7s to reach the Cup Final.
When the conference finals/semifinals are tied 2-2, the winner of Game 5 is 19-8 (70.3 percent) in the series."

No way that can happen, such little chance of it with all the injuries.
