Why is Rosen picking on Andreoff? The guy has played his heart out all year replacing Clifford and fighting and standing up for his teammates. He has filled in admirably. Andreoff is the least of the Kings worries.

I LOVE that Blake is working youngsters in and out of the lineup. It's just more that we have to have too many of them in right now with the injuries, which is why the Jokinen and Mitchell moves make a lot of sense to me. His thought process is very clear. Especially considering what he walked into.

I too am a little shocked we havent seen LaDue but I guess we wouldn't have enough beef in the lineup? not sure.

Futa and O'Donnell were at CBBA tonight watching LaDue, Gravel and company post a 3-0 shutout over San Jose.

Andreoff needs to be apart of any trade.

Stevens: "oooh I like it, thanks for the alternative look."

*plays Kopitar 28 minutes, Brown 20, everyone else 3-8, sneaks andreoff in as 14th forward to play 14*

Really though I wouldn't be opposed to a big shake up just to try new things, maybe Iafallo on a lower line would force him to shoot more and he'd be dealing with easier competition too, spreading things out.

Kinda wonder if Stevens would try Brown with Carter later on. Always wondered why Sutter was so allergic to that when it seemed like they always had magic

Lombardi trading away youth and picks helped the Kings to win two cups as well. It's a double edge sword sometimes.

Then what are you arguing?

You said the core is aging and you have to give to get, but trading away youth won cups.

So do you want Blake to trade more youth or do you want him to address the aging core?

I wasn't arguing anything.I made a factual statement to your comments.Dean built and retooled using picks and players to win two Stanley Cups. You've a aging core that is in a win now window and either you blow it up and get picks players to rebuild for the future or go out and get the players needed to make a run.Its actually pretty simple. Not making a move you waste another year of the cores window. The double edge sword is giving up future picks and youth or establish to have a chance to compete for championships now.But if you don't, you waste your aging players prime window by doing nothing and zero chance of completing for a championship.

Read Rosen’s post on the insider page. Terrible numbers or stats for Shore, Muzzin and Forbort. Kempe with the lowest ice time in awhile. Certain guys are just not cutting it. As good as Shore is defensively can’t even get a shot on goal.

Don’t know if Mitchell is the solution.

By the way, I thought the Kings were re tooling. Now we have a fourth line of all 34 year olds in Jokinen, Mitchell and Gaborik. Yikes.

The kids have shown they can't provide what is needed for the bottom six. Dowd has been terrible, Brodzinski has been underwhelming, Andreoff is Andreoff, and Amadio needs some more time in the AHL.

I'd see that as a problem if they were blocking the youth, but the youth clearly wasn't ready, so what do you want? Not like Jokinen and Mitchell are on LTCs

interesting to note that Gaborik has a few milestones that are definitely attainable

Depends on the plus. Nice to have a true power play quarterback

Muzzin+ for Faulk and Jdub ??
Muzzin+Shore would probably get the job done.

Iafallo-Kopitar-Brown
Pearson-Kempe-Toffoli
Gaborik-Jokinen-Williams
Clifford-Mitchell-Lewis

Forbort-Doughty
Fantenberg-Faulk
MacDermid-Martinez
*Folin

But that's all just fantasy.

I don't think Stevens is going to survive the season if this continues.

Blake should quietly start trying to figure out what he can get for Doughty at the trade deadline or in the off season, because Doughty isn't going to stick around for this, not when he can get paid and compete for cups.

Isn't Carolina looking for offense. Maybe Toffoli f+ for Faulk + Williams

It's almost like the Kings don't have impact prospects so importing the Reign's roster hasn't meant shit.

They are the same team that doesn't have the depth to overcome even one long-term injury to 11/8/32/77 and probably others. Extremely top heavy with no cavalry coming to save the day.

Yep, and that's why I've liked Blake's moves--he gave the kids a rotating shot, showed them what they had to work on, then made small moves to solidify a bottom six without mortgaging the future while we still figure out which Kings team is here. Good piece of work for a first year GM imo given especially the Carter injury.
