What's crazy is he has a good season this year. I was hoping for a buyout this summer but damn, other than his salary, he's not giving many reasons to...

I'd say it's mostly a matter of having a roster spot taken (besides the salary and length of the contract). Perhaps it's not a bad thing to let our prospects marine a bit in Laval.

Well, you’re being charitable. No one can question Gallagher’s dedication and effort. But his stamina, which was never robust even when he was younger, has now diminished to the point where after 30 seconds into his shift, Gallagher is effectively playing for the other team.

Yeah i know... but with what little ice time he has he's putting in points and is not bad defensively. I don't wanna keep him as I'd like a spot for Tuch and up the pace on that line but damn, he could've been sh*t and make it easy to move on. Lol. Loved Gally fondly back in the days. Now, i'd just love a graceful exit and move on.

Sorry for being off topic here. I've said my peace. ;)

Haven't had a chance to see his fights, is he really that bad or just facing other teams good fighters.
Not bad at all from what I’ve seen but not a great technician. He’s gone against some bad mama jamas and generally fares well. He could use some pointers there though for sure if someone on the Habs would be kind enough to teach him.

He’s a damn fine player regardless. We’re looking like we made out like bandits with this pick. He looks like he could play just about anywhere in the line up. Love that we have the pair of em

he's only 20 and still needs about 20-25 pounds on his 6'4 frame. He'll also get some pointers from the sheriff.
Florian is also fearless

He's got an attitude more than just being a pest. He's just pretty wild in a fight, I'm just scared if he faces a methodical mature fighter he'll get tuned up. Also if someone jumps one of the Xhekaj bros things might get outta hand.

I had a lot of issues and fights with my older brother but if anyone jumped him there'd be hell to pay from my end.

Proof that i don’t know shit about draft Even if i follow it. Was underwhelmed about the 2023 draft and the Xhekaj pick. Well, we got probably a top3 def/#1 goalie and a gritty bottom6 player (Third pair d with Bogdan). Solid 3 drafts all in all

Reminder:

Several posters were angry about the Habs drafting FX.
Having only played 2 seasons in the OHL and taking a good 2-3 months to acclimate himself to pro hockey, it is amazing how well he has played for a kid barely 20 years old. Many of us had him returning to the OHL as an overager. He plays the PK, is trusted to protect leads in the final minutes of games and plays in OT, not to mention he is 6'4 with very improved skating. He needs two things...more weight on his frame and more time.
Two complete seasons in Laval should be the plan.
First 25 games- 5 points
Last 27 games- 20 points

The nepotism brigade will tell you we shouldn't draft brothers and sons, but will have no problem drafting a dwarf who has 8.07% chances of making it.
