I doubt MacDermid gets traded, he has the Manson potential. Big, tough, and coachable. Last night he was a +4. Blake is all about asset management and if Clifford and/or Andreoff continue to contribute he won't waive them. + its better have these guys as 13th and 14 th forwards. He might trade one, but LA like to have atleast one guy who drop the gloves and be decent. And while Phaneuf is ok in that department, he not the player i want doing that. He is too important to the team and needs to be on the ice. Btw i love that he and Martinez look great together. Hopefully Muzzin can get back to LaDue and 3rd pairing, since Forbort is back with Doughty.
Manson is a decent skater. MacDermid is an awful skater. He may be big and tough but he's no where near Manson.

They are not going to want to lose MacD, skating deficiency or no skating deficiency. All of the intangibles you can ask for. Hopefully he can get even better before next season: he's already come a long way.

He finally got in his first fight in Ontario about a week ago and it was no contest.

What's the rush to trade guys? Right offer comes along, sure. Rosters expand though. Guys can still get hurt after the deadline. They still have waiver exempt players. No need to trade anyone if they don't want to.

It can be a lot of things. I'm sure it will be, until they find the right set. That line may or may not work. They'll surely hardly ever win a faceoff.

Thats why I wouldn't send Amadio down, The kid is finally coming into his own and is a true center. I'd drop Pearson and add Rieder to the line...

Iafallo - Kopitar - Brown
Kempe - Carter - Toffoli
Pearson - Amadio - Rieder
Mitchell - Thompson - Lewis

KC, AA and send Mersch, Brodz down

Sending Amadio down will be a huge mistake. Yes, he is waiver exempt, but it sends a wrong message sending him down. What exactly are we telling him? He performed awesome in the AHL, and then he does really well in the NHL, and his reward is to get sent down just to avoid losing a plug like Clifford or AA?

This is the best lineup I have seen so far. I like the 4th line a lot because all three players are very strong defensively, which will help on road games. Stevens can switch Kempe and Pearson during the game depending on how the game is going, but I would like to see Kempe on Carter's wing for a few games.

Might Gravel be on the trade block? From what I can tell, he will be a Group VI free agent. Would expect he would look for greener pastures.

Might be best just to keep him in case of injury to one of the regulars.

Amadio hasn't been much better, if at all, in that particular department. Smaller sample size and all though. Not the end of the world either. Every faceoff isn't all that critical.

It would seem as though Amadio has been playing himself into the lineup. Or at least onto the roster. Of the guys that can be sent down, he might be last on that list. Could play C or RW, whereas Brodzinski is just a winger, and probably just a RW. Doesn't hurt to be versatile.

I think he didn't get sent down because Gravel will be our 7th defenseman. That said, since our remaining games are at home, we really don't need Gravel in the press box. If one of the defensemen get injured, we can just recall Gravel or LaDue.

Including Carter and Lewis, the Kings have 15 forwards on the roster after today's demotion of Michael Mersch, but with Lewis on IR and Carter set to join the team, they'll be at 14 forwards.

With LaDue sent down, they now have 7 defensemen, and with Campbell called up, 3 goaltenders.

With a completely healthy lineup, the Kings will have to send a goaltender and forward down to Ontario to be at the max, 23-man roster.

Of course I have to skip going to Saturday's game due to a girlfriend thing and Rieder doesn't debut tonight.

Fully expecting Carter to play Saturday as well. All the good things happen when I don't go to the games.

Same. Was hoping to see Rieder tonight.

A LeBrun article that said Carter isn't expected back until next week but of course things can change.

MacDermid is no speed skater. Rookie Manson who only played 28 games with Ducks is not too far off to todays MacDermid. Obviously MacDermid has a steep ladder to climb, but has the potential.

Obviously I'm no pro scout but the first 5ish games I watched Manson I knew he had potential to be good. The first 5ish games I watched MacDermid, I didn't have much hope for him. Of course he only played 34 games and is still 23 so there's still time but his weaknesses are just really glaring right now.

When Carter finds out I'm not going on Saturday, he'll be ready to go.
Same. He knows I'm just waiting to wear that #77 jersey and will make me wait even longer.

On a side note, remember how much taboo it was to say Carter was better than Richards. Remember watching people get so salty over that. Father time tells no lies

Mike Richards?..

I don't think that was ever the case. Even in Philly. Jeff Carter had a 50 goal season back in 2008 for them.

MacDermid may not be able to get over his lack of speed/quickness. If the kings want to deploy him because of matchups, he should just get very sheltered minutes.

I totally get the speed issue, but he seem to be a player that can play within his limitations. I think that is why coaches both in the AHL and NHL (since they gave him a top 4 roll, which he was not ready for) love him. He seems to able to put information taught into action and not piss off his coaches. What i like about MacDermid (when he had the right timing) was would get the puck out his corner and no forward had a chance to stop him. Those board battles were short. Still needs some tuning and speed, but what rookie does not.

Small sample size, but tell exactly how Amadio isn't an upgrade over what we had??? keeping in mind his 5-7 min TOI was a major hinderance in both his development and impact for the team... He, along with others are making the bottom 6 pretty formidable... Theres a reason why Brodz and AA started scoring when being centered by the Kid..
