I wonder if Nylander has any chance to compete with Zibanejad/Söderberg/Berglund/Krüger for the 4th C spot. Let's say he gets released from the Marlies come playoff time and performs well in the World Championships, why not?

For me Larsson is feeling like a lock for me. His been amazing for a while now, I'd like having Hjalmarsson - Larsson as our first BP unit.

Yeah Larsson was my closest cut. Could take him over Ekholm depending on role. Ekholm has an edge if you include offense and some recent national team play aswell, but offense is not an issue here and Larsson's a righty that could bring balance to the group. Klingberg and Lindholm are in front almost surely, so depends on how many spots that open up.
Probably gonna be like Canada and Price, if he looks ready for training then you can assume he can play a few months later. You can replace injured players but I somehow doubt that rule qualifies if you pick an already injured player to the team.

Zetterberg is not a world-class player anymore.
47 points this season and he is not playing very good....
He should not play in top6.....he is perfect for 3rd line.
Silfverberg can't produce points in NHL...why would he produce points in world cup? he was terrible in olympics.

kronwall has been bad for red wings the whole season.....and he has problem with injures.

Silfverberg had a concussion in the pre-season and had a tough time the first half of the season.
Now he has 10 goals in his last 13 games.
Foremost he is a world class defensive player though.
A third line with Eriksson-Zetterberg-Silfverberg would make a great shut-down line.
Rakell-Backstrom-Forsberg
Steen-Sedin-Sedin
Hagelin-Zetterberg-Silfverberg
Landeskog-Wennberg-Eriksson
Could roll all four lines.
Johansson might take Wennberg's spot, but I'm just so impressed by Alex.

Berglund doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Söderberg. I don't get why all swedish hockey fans are so high on him he is a 3rd/4th line tweener the other players competing for this spot are all pretty solid top 6ers.
He's been in our minds for quite a while as our third center after Sedin and Bäckström. Gladly, the competition is much higher now.
He was better than most canadians as a junior.

I'm leaning towards him actually. Rask isn't a bad option either but most likely they select Kruger for that spot
I am not worried at all about zetterberg. His problem is that he can not keep it up over a whole season, a short tournament in the beginning of the season, should not be a problem.
Silfverberg had a bad form even in NHL when he played in the olympics and should not have been on the team then. When he is on fire, he is a elite player. This season have been kind like last season, started of slow but become better and better.
I agree, even if he is much better than Kruger he should still be pretty far away from a spot unless he kills it in the playoff or something.
Backlund should be mention more often.
We have a good deph among centers, Sedin, Bäckström, Zetterberg, Rakell, Söderberg, Backlund, Rask, Johansson, Zibanejad, Wennberg.
