World Cup: 2016 World Cup — Team North America (Part II)

When this was announced I hated the idea of this team. Now they're easily the thing I'm most looking forward to seeing. Sucks about their draw though. Europe, Czech and US are all with Canada. NA gets Finland, Russia, Sweden.

Not exactly evened out. I think Canada has the three easiest teams in the whole thing on their side.

McD is the fastest, WITH the puck, followed by Druoin...MacK has that straight ahead speed...

Course we don't know if they're gonna reunite that Halifax duo...

Galchenyuk is both a younger, and a better player than Trocheck. Take your homer goggles off.

Also, the bolded has absolutely nothing to do with Galchenyuk's dominance late in the season. Galchenyuk going beast mode and being the best player on the Habs in the last quarter of the season is completely nullified because he couldn't save their total dumpster fire season?

Galchenyuk emerged as the team's 1C, and will be in that role going forward. Not sure how that isn't a prominent role. Trocheck can be a second line player and that seems totally okay to you, but Galchenyuk can be a second line player for 3/4 of the season and a very productive first line player for the last quarter, but for Galchenyuk its a knock against him.

Damn, that is a pretty awesome lineup. When the idea was first out of what this team would be composed of, I never thought that good of a lineup could come out of it. Great top 2 lines, top D pairing that would be one if the elite in the NHL already.
 
Why so much talk about a player that wasn't good enough to be selected. Can we get back to talking about players that are actually on the team?

What is the shootout format for this tournament? NHL rules?

Who do you think would be NA's shooters? McDavid/Eichel. Maybe Drouin? He's pretty slick.

hopefully nhl playoff rules. So no shootouts
 
So I just looked up the rules. Round Robin play is 5 minutes of 3 on 3, followed by a shootout. Semi-Finals and Finals are 5 on 5 overtime play until a winner is decided.
 
I'm more pumped for this team than I am for Team Canada. Canada is expected to win. Period.

These kids are huge underdogs, but they are definitely the fastest team at this tournament. I think our D is underrated here too.

They all can skate. Ghost on the PP with McDavid and Eichel? Yes please!

It's funny, Oiler fans love Jack. I'm pumped to see these two play together, they could compliment each other so well. Jack has a wicked shot and we know McJesus has that generational playmaking vision.
 
The whole PP is going to be eichel on his off wing (pay attention Bylsma), ghost at the point, McDavid just putting it on whoever he wants stick for the shot
 
Team North America is a stupid idea,if you are good enough like McDavid to play on Team Canada,regardless of age he should be on the best team....if you want to create fake teams have Team Canada 2 and Team USA 2,that would create big rivalry with the players who did not make Team Canada or Team USA,and at least they are all from the same country.

Could be downright lethal. Ghost has a deadly accurate shot and Eichel has an elite release and velocity on his shot.

McDavid loves to set up the play, he'll tee it up for those guys.
