Just got the information from my czech friends that a major czech sport tv is gonna broadcast all the World Cup games including all pre-tournament games?? Wow.

Yes, but it shouldn't be that surprising, WC is considered to be a major hockey tournament, best on best tournament so it's expected that it will get a lot of coverage in the Czech republic.

We are hockey country after all (sure, football is still top). For example, our major sport tv broadcasted a lot of games from last WJC, all Czech games, all play-off games and some games from group stage. And our sport tv is also broadcasting all games from World Hockey Championships.

Btw probably all pre-tournament games but only for Czech republic, I guess. But then yes all 17 games will be broadcasted and then the games will be re-broadcasted next day (because most or all games will be played at night for our time-zone).

I don't care about the geoblock (not gonna watch), I was simply asking if it's some subscription-based deal, which is nothing special, or if they're truly going to air entire shebang on an open channel. No matter how much I despise this thing, that *is* impressive.

its still pretty normal here that major events are broadcasted on open channels. The tendency to put major events under paid channels appeared recently. Still open broadcast prevail...

My opinion on 16 players, who will be selected in roster before 1st March.

Mrazek, Neuvirt

Gudas, Polak, Zidlicky, Mihalek

Voracek, Plekanec, Palat, Krejci, Hanzal, Hudler, Pastrnak, Frolik, Yashkin, Hertl

Hope to see Jagr in roster)

There is only a very, very little chance. I would say close to zero chance but it's Jagr so you never know. Just a few days ago, Jagr said once again that he won't play on World Cup. But our new GM (Rucinsky) will probably still try to convince him later.

And it's Jaskin, not Yashkin.

Sobotka will be there instead of Jaskin. I am not sure about POlak and Zidlicky. Sustr might be there. Jan Kovar has also some chance even if he does not fit to BOB on small ice.
 
My opinion on the first 16 players:
Voracek, Krejci, Plekanec, Hanzal, Frolik, Palat, Pastrnak, Hertl, Hudler, Sobotka, Sustr, Polak, Z.Michalek, Gudas, and 2 goalies should be Mrazek and Pavelec.

I like it. Maybe no Kovar, I would prefer one of the youngsters - Faksa or Simon. They are used to the size of the ice rink. But no Fleischmann absolutely correct! :handclap:

Sure, why not. Both, Faksa and Simon (or Jaskin) could be more suited for this tournament compared to Kovar. We could really use one of these youngsters to fill the spot on 3th/4th line. But I really like Kovar and would have no problem to see him there. Highly skilled player on a line with great 2-way players.

Czechs should definitely take the youth in(and Jagr. The hilariousness of that would be out of this world. How many players would be young enough tio be his kids?). Why bother with guys like Hemsky or Frolik? Let the young talent win the spurs.

How can you (or the source) know this? The press conference is happening just now.
Also, does already selecting 3 goalies mean that there will be no possibility to change them until the tournament?

Edit: The press conference is just at Kempny, so it will be right.
