Czechs should definitely take the youth in(and Jagr. The hilariousness of that would be out of this world. How many players would be young enough tio be his kids?). Why bother with guys like Hemsky or Frolik? Let the young talent win the spurs.

Kempny is a shocker one. I didn't write him off, but I thought his selection would depend heavily on the World Championship. But still, I will rather have Kempny there than like Zidlicky od Rozsival...

According to Rucinsky, Jagr hasn't been included yet because he asked for it. It remains to be seen if he'll play.

The coach said that the left side of the D is the Czech's weakness (rightfully so), and players like Smid, Kindl & Jordan are playing somewhere between very little to not at all.

They're not the same position though.


What I don't get is why a roster spot already had to be wasted on a 3rd goalie.

I want him to play for national team as soon as possible, but World Cup is just no brainer. He has no business there. Maybe, just maybe, he could be considered for WCH. But even in a tournament like that it's very very unlikely. Wait a year or two, then he can may be in more serious talks about A team. Just like Kostalek or Masin. But until then, no way.

Thats not a coinsidence imo. Czech will need great team effort to be succesfull there. No matter how popular Hudler was in Calgary, I would say czech coaches are generally afraid he can harm atmosphere in the team. He has been always omitted.

You've got to be joking about Salak right? Pavelec is not great, but definitely better than him.

I've mentioned Zboril several times on here in posts, but people seem to think he's too young.

Our national coaches just seem to hate Hudler. Not sure why. Perhaps Jandac is suffering from Ruzicka syndrome

He looked bad on WJC, he's having very so-so season in his junior team and you want him to play in World Cup? That's weird. He would be destroyed among that competition.

He didn't want to be selected in the first wave so he can have more time to think about it. Doubt he will change the mind though. Chances he goes are low.

What about Nakladal for the final roster? Liked what I saw of hin in World Championship last year and was awarded with a NHL contract after that. Big shot from the point. He scored his first goal in the NHL the other night.

Definitely should be added among the last 7 players. They want to see more of him, probably. But I am sure that he will be there in June (on the final roster). Overall really solid defenseman who I think, never refused to play for NT and always has done nice job.

Only 9 forwards and 4 dmen so far, still room for guys like Hudler. Sobotka is maybe a bit undeserving but we'll see.

They picked 4 centers, we are set there. Sobotka deserves it. Fantastic 4th line center for this tournament.
