No idea how Giroux snubbed again.

Plays RW as well as C.

Good defensively, elite on faceoffs, one of the best PKers statistically in the NHL.

Oh... he also leads the NHL in points this decade and is top 5 in PPG in that time.

And he has turned out at the World Championships each time Canada have called. (pushing Seguin and Stamkos to wing on same line and Crosby to 2C as the tournament went on last year.)

Giroux is also tied for 5th in scoring for guys from Canada THIS year. Yet gets overlooked.

Lol...I guess being 56.9% on faceoffs, elite on the PK, and top 5 in scoring is not enough.

I would pick Tavares over Giroux everytime.

Now as far as Carter and Getlav, their concept of talent + size has worked for them the two last times they formed their teams.

Well you'd be picking the inferior player.

It's hilarious that Toews gets ranked he is for his two way ability but it's not even considered when talking about G.

Did you even watch the last two Olypmics?

I've watched Weber throughout his career, all he has is a ****ing slap shot and he's hard to play against on the boards, thats it. He bleeds shots against when he's on the ice.

There's nothing that points to Weber being a good defensive dman, the only thing he's good at is quarterbacking a PP, hes elite at that.. thats it.

Giroux and Subban... There still are a few spots left, but still... Giroux should have been in these first 9 forward, just like PK should have been in these first 4 defensemen. The scary part is that it's still possible that one or both of them end up not even being in the full roster... and that would be fkn ridiculous.

People need to relax.

Giroux will be on the squad, they're just showing loyalty to some of the players and adding new blood like Seguin who had to be there.

Tbf Giroux has showed pretty nice loyalty to TC over the years... turning up for World Champs (and being the best Canadian at both) including one after being an Olympic snub... when lesser players decline to play.

I feel like Giroux has rounded out his game too much to be left off again.

He's got nothing to prove at this point, he's shown up to the worlds twice in the last three years and likely has another chance this year, and leads the league in scoring over the last 5 years. Canada either wants him they don't and Claude should tell them to delete his phone number and don't bother calling him. He shouldn't have to switch positions, either. He is one of the 4 top Canadian centers.

That doesn't address anything I say. I'm not even going to bother responding in detail because it will clearly go nowhere.

Giroux's two-way play IS underrated, but doesn't produce as much 5v5 as Toews does. He's a PP specialist, essentially, and I'm confident he'll be named to the final 16 for his skills in that area.

Final four fwds to make it prediction:

Giroux
Hall
Duchene
Perry

Notable omission: Marchand

Dmen:

Subban
Giordano
Burns

Notable omission: Brodie

Umm what? He's a terrible advanced stats player and he's never lead Nashville to ANYTHING despite having an extremely strong team these past few years.

Idiotic statement. Who gives a **** about advanced stats when the guy tied for the team lead in points at the 2014 Olympics and was named an all-star at the 2010 Olympics. Not to mention the numerous top five Norris nominations and post-season All Star nods.

I'm gonna go ahead and try to name the next 7

Here's a list of players I can see chosen, bolded are who I believe will make it.

Giroux Marleau
Hall Marchand
Duchene O'Reilly
Thornton Sharp
Perry

Burns
Letang
Subban
Pietrangelo
Seabrook

So 13F, 8D, 3G

Burns can be used as a forward which would make his inclusion pretty certain imo (also because Armstrong talk on SN). I can see Letang not making it in favour of another forward though i.e. Marchand/Thornton
