I would be really comfortable with TNSE's BPA at that point. Our need is probably LHD but my guess is they go for their BPA. Both these players will impact our team so I am good either way which is why I have them on the same tier.

Fair enough. I assume you have the same thought process for Poolparty and PLD (as in leaving it to who TNSE thinks is BPA). For what it's worth I have pretty much the exact same top 6 as you.

Right now I'd go:

Matthews
Laine
PLD/Poolparty (torn, leaning PLD)
Tkachuk/Chychrun (really close tier for me, I'd probably go Tkachuk though)

I'm just hoping we have some team(s) before us picking Nylander/Juolevi/etc. Would be a feeling we've become accustomed to... Virtanen fist pump so damn hard.

I dunno if anyone can realistically fall that would get me as excited as Ehlers or Connor who were easily BPA where we got them. I'd be happy with PLD/Chychrun at 6/7 but I probably wouldn't get the wow we just robbed this draft kind of feeling.

A lot of people think Juolevi is really good (and better than Chychrun). I wonder why so many Jets fans don't seem to like him that much. I really liked him at the WJHC, but can't comment much more about him.

I rank him as the best D in this draft, but I think its a pretty weak draft for high-end defensemen

TBH I like all three of the big D fairly equally, though they all bring different strengths. In the limited viewings I've had though, I slightly prefer Chychrun's game. I definitely wouldn't be disappointed if TNSE feels Juolevi is the best of the three and call his name at the draft.

I also feel that Juolevi is being overrated a bit due to his outstanding performance at the WJC. Also I find it odd that he doesn't get more points playing on a team that scores ~25% more goals than Sarnia.

In the London games that I have been able to catch on TV I have never come away that impressed with him. His point totals given the caliber of the knights are also pretty meh. I have been more impressed with Chychrin in the games I've seen him play.

I had the impression that Grind and Garret like Juolevi more than Chychrun "by the numbers". Am I mistaken?

I think that's the problem. I only really liked him at the WJC. After that he kind of fell back to earth but has been riding on that performance all season.

Serg tho. He good.

Very skilled.

Serge could very well end up being the best LHD from the draft. He has some work to do in the Dzone I think but his offence is definitely there.

I'm pretty high on Fabbro as well and think he should be in the conversation with the big 3. We don't need anymore RHD's but I think he will be more of a long term project. Going to Boston U will be great for his development they are good at developing defensive talent.

at the 6-7 slot its hard to get a shocking faller like Connor......on the flip side if we see the Jets win 1st overall pick well that might be a head rush >>> than anything to date.

PLD at 7 for me would be at least = to the Ehlers fall.

Fabbro was just great last night I was really impressed by his complete game. I just didn't see any holes at all....dude is silky smooth.

If we've learned anything from the draft since the Jets returned, it's that anything is possible on draft day. Anyone can fall. Every year someone falls. Even Seth Jones was ranked #1 and fell to 4. The only thing you can predict with reasonable certainty is that it will be unpredictable.

How can the Wild hope to win without Parise?

http://www.startribune.com/back-surgery-is-an-option-for-wild-s-parise/375630421/

With injured Zach Parise staying behind, the Wild flew to Dallas on Wednesday to begin its playoff series against the Stars.

A day after the Star Tribune reported Parise was experiencing tingling in his legs and numbness in his feet due to a herniated disk in his back, the Wild announced he will be sidelined indefinitely because of an upper body injury.

The news could soon be worse. According to multiple sources, Parise was at the Mayo Clinic seeing a spine specialist Monday. Now being determined is whether Parise needs season-ending microdiscectomy surgery to relieve pressure on the spinal nerve column.

The Wild’s all-time leading playoff scorer, with 25 points in 28 games, could miss the postseason.

Every scouting report talks about grit, determination and compete level as pluses, bur Serg scores like crazy too. Crazy.

Sergachev will definitely be available when we draft but I wonder how much Chevy will be dissuaded by the Russian factor. Apparently he tried to trade up for Provorov last year so I guess not much but Sergachev has been in NA for a shorter amount of time

Let's go Blues!!!!

Maybe we need to start a Chicago tank thread. LOL...

Cheer against division winners Washington, Florida, Dallas and Anaheim. And cheer against St Louis and Pittsburgh because they have more points than Chicago. The wrench for the Central is that Chicago plays St Louis so one is guaranteed to make 2nd round. The winner of that series has to lose 2nd round. And Dallas is the division winner. Best case scenario would be Minnesota making conference finals. Not likely, but who knows. :)

I would take him at #3 I think

I agree. For me it goes

1. Matthews
2. Laine
3. PLD
4. Puljujarvi
5. Tkachuk/Chychrun
6. Tkachuk/Chychrun
7. Sergachev/Juolevi/Nylander
8. Sergachev/Juolevi/Nylander
9. Sergachev/Juolevi/Nylander

Unless Columbus wins one of the first two lotteries, can't see them choosing anyone besides PLD or Puljujarvi.

Knowing Brian Burke and his love of "truculence" PLD or Tkachuk would be likely targets although the Flames system could also use a high end defenseman as well.

Just don't know which team selecting ahead of the Jets would possibly go off the board and grab Juolevi or Nylander in turn dropping someone into Winnipeg's lap.

Just need some major lotto luck to win that 3rd lottery.
