If the worst case scenario happens and we end up at the 6th pick and Tkachuk and Dubois are gone, who do you guys want to take, Keller? Jost? One of the d?
Oh gosh I hope we don't number 6.
Let's all mentally put our faith into believing the Canucks will win the number 1 pick. I think if all nucks fans do it, I believer we will win it.
Who do you see as Beans comparables? I haven't seen much of him, other than that he seems a little slow. Like a Mike Green type?
What's wrong with the 6th pick?
It's what I'm expecting us to get. That way if we get better it'll be gravy.
Besides there are still really solid players available @ 6.
The 4-10 picks are all on the same tier IMO.
I find it odd that I keep hearing people knock his skating.... There's no issue with it, he's a solid skater with good speed, anyone who has said he's slow hasn't watched much of him. Kid gets pretty underrated around here, I think he's right there with the best of the D man in this draft. Bean also gets knocked on for his defensive game which is pretty good for such an offensive weapon. He'll be like a Sanheim pick, after he's drafted people will wonder why he went later. I think after next season Beans stocks will sky rocket, and I wouldn't be surprised if people start to think of him as a potential top pairing D man, just my two cents. I really like Bean and he'll fix our future PP issues from the back end.
6 is scary for me because I'm afraid Benning will take a defenceman.
If we get 6 I would really want to trade down, trade down to like 9-12 + asset and pick bean/jost/Fabbro
To be fair Sanheim still isn't very good of a defender...
Bean needs to make improvements to his overall quickness if he's going to be an NHL PP QB. He can get there but there's still a question of whether he can develop. The goals he's scoring in junior will be hard to come by at higher levels IMO. That's not even mentioning his defensive game and strength. I don't deny there's upside but there are also plenty of question marks that people are overlooking. At international tournaments and the TPG he hasn't looked like much of an offensive weapon with less time and space, same thing in the WHL playoffs.
Keller. He fits perfectly with this group. We've got some real good shooters now we just need a guy with elite vision and playmaking ability to find Boeser, Virtanen, McCann and Horvat in prime scoring locations. Watch the highlights of the USA vs Czech quarterfinals on YouTube. He's always making plays happen. So explosive and creative. He's a huge lift to the group. Will instantly raise the game of whoever he plays with.

#19 and he's basically in every clip
I can't really defend that.
But hey, maybe he just hasn't watched Sergachev that much and the game he's watched he played extremely well.
I looked at his previous lists (2014 & 2015) It really isn't all that bad.
RLR often differs from the general consensus, some very funny one-liners and Woodlief does throw some curve balls out there. Like Button, i respect their opinions/time/effort and lists, but that doesn't mean you have to agree with them all the time. Both have had really perplexing opinions in the recent past.Yeah, I don't really trust RLR. Some of their scouting reports just seem way off to me, even if I do like their boldness in rankings. I like McKeen's and and Hockey Prospect better, their scouting reports are more in line with what I've seen but obviously I don't agree with all of their rankings. Button gets a lot of flak as well, but I like that he differs from the consensus, he's actually made some good calls lately, obviously had some big misses in the past because he does make ballsy rankings.
None beyond the top 3 should be considered, beyond a short trial. How many forwards do you think have a chance to play in the NHL next season?
make a deal with Carolina and draft 13 and 23.

Any other year and I'm clamouring for two first round picks.
But to finish 3rd worst in the league and then not pick until 13? That would hurt. I really want to leave this draft with an elite prospect.

Agree with all of this. Wouldn't even mind picking him at 4 or 5.
After the top 3, I'd want one of Dubois, Tkachuk or Keller
Bean and Sanheim were used as a shutdown pairing because Kanzig (their usual shutdown defensemen) was just too slow to handle DeBrusk & Spacek. So Bean wasn't really being utilized offensively.
Also, I have absolutely no problem with the goals that Bean scores. They are quick, accurate shots or smart plays to fake out defenders. Bean loves the short side above the shoulder spot for his wristers. It's not like those goals are necessarily "junior hockey goals". In fact I'd argue that they are very much NHL goals.
If were drafting at 6 it's not elite.
What should scare anyone is Jim trading. You know he will lose badly.
Maybe stay at 6.

Benning has been pretty open so far in his interviews that he is absolutely willing to trade down.
Which I think is a good idea, Bean + > Consensus 6th overall pick
Disagree. I say we keep our top 6 pick & our 33rd pick but offer Jannik Hansen for a 12 to 22 overall pick. After our top 6 pick, I'd like us to next get two of Brown, Jost, Bean, Fabbro, Johansen, Benson or Clague.
