Lol thank you all ! Everyone is running around like a chicken with their head cut off and wedding vendors are going in and out of my house but first thing i had to do was get my hfboards on . Cheer our boys on everyone ! Today i get married but hopefully the future holds more Kings fans joining the family

Ha, sorry for stalking, but I wanted to see if Kopitar is playing today vs. my Devils. Congrats, dude! I got married last month and it was the best decision I ever made.

Don't think I've seen you make it all the over to the Kings board before buddy. Welcome!

Doesn't appear so unless there's a last-minute change; he's been skating and was day-to-day, but there haven't been any updates. Will probably hear much more closer to game time though.

Congrats again :handclap:

i think auger makes this team next year after expansion. a six foot seven forward who seems to have found his scoring touch at twenty two in the ahl. could be real nice in the bottom six.

Many quotes from the organization last year seemed to suggest that as well. He's improved almost exponentially though he seems to have plateau'ed a little bit. I think the only big problem is where he fits--could end up being a Dwight King complimentary type but I sure don't see him as a line driver at the NHL level (i.e. if he has a smart center like Dowd he'll be effective).

He plays hockey like he's afraid to mess up his hair.

My understanding: Kings explored Hammond briefly via trade. Could make work if maneuver cap, but unlikely. With that, I'm off to NJ/LA game

Not at that price with how he's played so far this season. Plus with the news coming out that he refused a conditioning assignment to the ahl to even show that he can still be a capable goalie, pass

he's played pretty much every game I think. since McNabb went down Sutter has put him mostly with Doughty and he's looked great...looking better every game

He, Forbort, has played every game.

Who goes to waivers from Kings forwards soon 15 healthy.

Possible ones are really Shore, Purcell more likely Nolan maybe 10 games ago Setoguchi not anymore.

As of today
LW is hard to crack; Pearson, Brown, King and Clifford as is RW Gaborik, Toffoli, Setoguchi and Lewis.

Top 3 centers are set in stone in Kopitar, Carter and Dowd.

Shore has played all but one game even when Andreoff was healthy he only missed our 9th game so even he is pretty set at least top 14.

I believe it will be Nolan what do you think?

Dean might risk sending Shore to Ontario. He'd have to assess the needs of the 29 other NHL teams to fully evaluate the risk involved. But, at the end of the day, if I'm a GM of one of those 29 other teams, I look at Nick Shore and ask "Why should I even bother....?"

Nick 'led the league in Corsi" Shore fits the 4th line center role very well. I don't see a hole there. Nolan is vulnerable. He is currently our 13th forward. I wouldn't be surprised to see Purcell traded for a pick.

I think Nolan's days as a King are numbered.

No way he sends Shore down, Kings need centers. No loss in wishing Nolan or Purcell into the cornfield.

Shore has been playing very well. The Clifford, Lewis, Shore line make a very tenacious 4th line, and have been scoring. Shore has a little bit of skill, but still very stout defensively.

My chopping block for right now goes:

Nolan, Purcell, King

These players are on their way out.

Shore, Purcell and King could probably get us decent returns. I think a lot of teams will want Shore because of his Corsi stats. Most teams are now into these new Moneyball strategies (especially Arizona) and may be willing to trade a 3rd rounder for Shore. Purcell has scored 10-20 goals in the past and I think could draw interest as well. I would prefer to keep him until the trade deadline though, when there will be more competition. Or perhaps a team like the Islanders would be interested for scoring depth.

King could draw interest in teams needing someone that has the potential to score and is good on the cycle. But I think Shore and Purcell have more value than him.

Per Rosen, looks like Gaborik may be back for the Chicago game. Such good news, considering Kopitar's wingers are going to be Lewis and King for today's game lol. I would rather play Andreoff with Kopitar and Gaborik at this point, rather than either King or Lewis.

Saw that. Kinda shocking to me. Thought he'd be further off with the talk about "December guys" and conditioning!

Once both Gaborik and Andreoff are activated, I'm pretty sure that gives us one forward too many. Someone would have to be put on waivers unless the Kings send down Gravel, but that wouldn't make sense given we don't have an extra LD with McNabb out.

edit: Just saw that there's been some discussion on this already. Nolan would be the odd man out in my opinion.

I am 65% sure he would clear waivers, so maybe he would be an injury call up later in the year.

I think he will too. Not sure he has much longer in the NHL. Could continue in the A tho. Only thing he really has going is that he is cheap.

I guess we could always dump Pearson for picks if the Kings really need a spot.

It just wouldn't be right to get rid of Nolan. I do wonder where his inner Troll disappeared to.

Nolan makes the most sense.

Trading Shore leaves a hole at the 4C spot. Trading King means you would need to call up Mersch, which doesn't solve the roster issue. And Purcell is a guy who's scored 13 or 16 goals last season. As desperate as we are for offense, it seems crazy to move a guy like that (despite his struggles) in favor of someone who I don't think has scored 13 goals in his career. Plus Clifford and Andreoff already provide a similar role to Nolan.

Also, there's a decent chance Nolan clears. So he can still be in orgnazation if he's needed later on in the season.

They could still trade a guy like King for a pick/prospect and call up Mersch. But LA being over the roster limit doesn't force the move happen, so there's no need to make the move at the moment, imo.
