Have there been any rumors of Rossi being available? I dont see Minnesota wanting to part with him, and if they do it wont be cheap. Hes a 23 year old center who is defensively responsible and a lot of Wild fans think he could be a PPG guy as soon as next season. His biggest knock is being 5'9, but there are probably 5 forwards on the Wings that he would be more physical then on a nightly basis. Debrincat is listed at 5'8 and that doesn't hold him back much, how big someone plays is often more important than their actual size. Rasmussen is 6'6 220 and most nights he could be mistaken for someone with brittle bone disease the way he shys away from contact.

A team as center starved as Minnesota isn't moving Rossi I don't think.

Yes there have been rumors. They don't necessarily make sense to me, but they are out there

Wouldn't break up the top line personally.
I wouldn't hitch those guys together for ever, im sure the Toddfather won't do that either. First things he did was breaking up Ed-Mo pair. In Kasper's case he might stay in that spot for remaining season but come next off-season camp, he gets moved back to middle. Spread the wealth, depth will work in our favor better than all eggs in one basket solution.

Fischer Skott , Jack Phelan . Also guys like MBN , Danielson , Dylan James on the older side. I am not saying it's wrong , I am just saying that if this draft is not very good , expect more older guys get drafted, guys who had big improvement

Oh never mind I thought you meant guys that were passed on the draft a year prior.

I dont think they necessarily have a preference

I'd say our depth recently has really let the Red Wings get away with stacking two lines. (Larkin+/DeBrincat/Copp/Kane) The Rasmussen/Soderblom line duo causes real problems for teams on a shift by shift biases it lately. I'd ride that out till teams figure out an answer for them. I think Kane played with them at times last game, but Berggren is producing nice with them with the space he's given by those two big guys.

Good depth; weeding out guys like Motte/Veleno/Holl/Husso/etc.

Idk what you got to do to get Tarasenko going, It's not like the guy isn't shooting... He's got a career worst shot % and it's a ridiculous drop off from his career average/standard.

Also... the defense for the first time in a long time has two lines that operate at a very high level with lots of minutes.

Also, I don’t wanna hear the excuse that you can’t run a defense of young guys. It’s seiders 4th year, by next year he will be a vet even if he’s still young. Edvinsson also plays like a vet, and hasn’t showed really any signs of not being able to handle it. He’s like the terminator. I don’t think you can run 6 homegrown defense next year but in 2-3 years? Yeah that’s plausible.

I dont know who those 4 would be if pellikka is in the top 4 if johansson becomes seider partner etc.. but if they're good enough to play I don't care

My only concern now is if theres another stupid expansion draft again it better happen in 27-28 that way pellikka wouldnt have to be protected and we can protect seider edvinsson Johansson but would also screw us if we picked up a younger dman like hague k'Miller not to mention the forwards would be a headache and we'd lose good assets

Hope we wont further dilute the product but sadly the owners are greedy and it will happen, but ya anyways I dont give a f*ck if our top 6 are all homegrown so long as they perform

At practice yesterday, Elmer Ras + Kane were a line...waiting for today's report to see if T-Mc sticks with it, I sure hope so.

I'd rather make the playoffs as an 8 seed than not make it at all and get another 13-16 overall draft pick. The kids need to see what the playoffs are like. This way, they're better prepared when the time comes for a deep run.

Schenn is an upgrade over Holl, only signed until 2026, is a champion, and would likely cost a 3rd to get. I see no harm in making a trade for him.
I was responding to a post suggesting that we move a 1st and Danielson (effectively two first round picks) for a 33 year old ROR and a 35 year old Luke Schenn. If that is what you want to do, please come on record and say as much.

Smart money says that both of these guys will be out of professional hockey within three years. I am more concerned about three years from now (than making the playoffs this year) because I expect us to be within our competitive window three years from now.

I have zero issues moving our first, the return, however needs to provide some longer-term benefit.

To make a less effective ES line than they had?
I watched the game the other night, they had a pretty even night.

The coach is still tinkering, but it would be nice to see them get some time together to see what can develop...got to stick 88 somewhere...hopefully with some mates to cover defensively and in the line up where they see easier competition, yet have enough skill to keep Patty happy.

I don't see it as a long term thing, more likely Compher lands between them after the break at some point.

I missed the first part. For the record, I'm totally against selling off futures (includes our previous first round picks) for rentals, unless (as you said) they benefit us long term.

Schenn shouldn't cost more than a 3rd, provides grit and playoff experience, and is an upgrade on Holl. No reason to not pull the trigger if he's available.
