Well he was useless last season. He should've just shut it down and gotten healthy. Now he wont be ready for the start of next season and will be a step behind all season again. Great...

I have no problem with the Kings bringing him back. If they're gonna do it they need to get straight to the point and not try to peddle some watered down, attorney drafted BS press release. They need to say he's paid his dues, regrets what he did, and we want him back because he makes us better. I don't want anything other than that. Own it and move on.

He would make the team much better and that's all that's relevant. The Kings aren't a ****ing charity like many believe, they're a business and the goal is winning. Bring him back if everything lines up. I don't really care what the virtue signalers think.

I agree. Also, heart warming stories of redemption don't occur without whatever happened previously. If Voynov and his family have emerged from a very bad situation to find themselves in a new and better place than it's time for the rest of us to move on too.

The franchise has taken responsibility for it's problems and failures and is already in the process of rejuvenating itself. I believe reinstating Voynov fits the plan in a positive way.

BTW what's the latest on Prokhorkin and Dergachyov? Heck, maybe we'll win the draft lottery and turn things around a lot faster than anyone thought.

Any further word on the salary cap for next year? I haven't read any news since that $75.5-$76 million possibility Daly tossed out in early March.

If true, then that and Greene possibly going LTIR could free up a decent amount of cap space.

yes, and LaDue, Gravel, Brodzinski, Andreoff, Shore, are all RFA's, as is Mersch.

People change. One terrible chapter in their life shouldn't define them forever. Hopefully he has changed, for his sake. A child is one of the best motivators out there.

Just a reminder about Voynov.

He is in all likelihood under an immigration border entry ban. That is the norm for people who voluntarily leave the country prior to deportation - especially with his publicized criminal record.

To apply for a waiver of the ban takes about 6 months. So for Voynov to even make any training camp, he would have had to apply for that waiver in early March at the latest.

But most rosters and dollars are set by then. It's really the first few weeks of the free agency period that matter. For voynov to make that time period, he would have had to apply for a waiver in 2016.

All reports I've read indicate the Kings are acting like Voynov has not applied. Not only that but Voynov is also still under a KHL contract. Any funds used to pay off his KHL team has to come from Voynov and not from the Kings. As I understand it, if the Kings paid, it would be treated as compensation paid by the kings and added to his cap amount.

A voynov return is not happening. At least not in 2017-2018.
