Halverson is too high. He might be the 4th best goalie prospect in the organization at this point. Wall and Huska killed it in NCAA. We all know what Shesty did in the KHL. We also signed Nell. It's become an organizational position of stregnth, to the point Skapski is likely to be gone/has no future here.

Worst case at this point is getting 1 NHL starter out of this group. Someone should make it.

Buch being in the NHL hurts these rankings, same for Vesey. Both have basically graduated, although Buch is technically still a prospect in the eyes of HF.

Should be higher: Pionk, Zboro, Fontaine, Kovacs (replace Jensen)

Should be lower: Halverson, Nieves, Jensen (why is he even there?), Nell

Gettinger is looking good too, good for us that Fontaine and Gettinger seem to be developing nicely (Ronning too) because our older group of F prospects sure had a rough season.

I think the FO would've done better in general if they went after a college bound or a Euro prospect instead of at least two out of these three players. I'm afraid that their ceiling will be a bottom 6 in the AHL. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I like all 3, they're all progressing nicely and all have tools that should translate pretty well to the next level.
Time will tell if they'll translate to the next level after that though but for being late round picks i really like all 3.

i stopped listening to clarks videos and talks a long time ago...he thinks highly of everyone...theres never been a prospect that hes down on..and thats fine..you dont expect him to say that stuff..but its all just lip service...

our prospect pool is trash...everyone knows it.

It would be really interesting to see late round pick success rate by league.

My gut tells me the CHL is just too heavily scouted to find gems in rds 5-7. And of course you'd have to benchmark it to account for rds 5-7 being extremely low probability to begin with.

I mostly agree but i think Gettinger, Fontaine and Ronning were good picks, all from the CHL. In general though go to Europe for the late picks.

I normally have low hopes for big guys picked in low rounds until they get to the AHL. On a relative basis, I have higher hopes for Fontaine than Gettinger.

Gettinger is a project but his improvements this season were pretty big imo, i got pretty high hopes for both. Gettinger clearly with the higher upside while Fontaine seems pretty likely to atleast become a tweener, i can't really see him "bust" (bad word since a 6th rounder really can't bust but you know what i mean).

Gorton needs to replace Clark. The latter can still remain in the organization as a special assistant to the GM. Greeley needs to remain in his current role. Is there another scout available to run the draft? Jeff Kealty runs the scouting department in Nashville. Former 1st rounder by Quebec. Kealty played at BU with Chris Drury. Both of were drafted by Quebec in 1994. Massachusetts guy. I am sure Gorton and Greeley also know Kealty. Nashville has not hit on all of their picks. He would be familiar with Rangers management.

If Kealty is the mastermind behind Preds amazing drafting then i'd be extatic if we got him. I like Clarke but some new blood wouldn't be bad, move Clarke within the organisation.

We should just hire everyone responsible for Nashville's defense scouting and development.

Agree that prospect pool is not great and that Halverson and Nieves are too high. But the real weekness is at forward. The goalies look good and fiven the signing of free agents Bereglazov and Pionk, the development in junior of Sean Day and Zborovskiy to go along with Ryan Graves the defense prospects are looking better. But the forwards are a big concern. I know you have to draft BPA and this draft seems to be a defense heavy draft but if Kostin or Yammamoto fall to 21 I would think seriously about them.

I agree with you and I am for drafting forward in this draft. Rangers have some nice defensive prospects. They are only missing high-end D so I would not mind drafting Brannstrom or other D with high ceiling. Otherwise, draft forward.

It was. We found the Fontaine of Youth, building a Wall, if there was a female player, we'd be Gettinger too and Ronning away with it

I wouldn't call it an "exceptionally" poor. Switch Halverson and Wall and move up Zborovsky and it's pretty reasonable take on the poor state of our prospect pool.

Day #2 is a joke. What makes him any better than Gettinger, let alone second? Wall 9th behind Halverson, Gropp, Nieves is another joke. Zborovskiy 13th behind Fontaine, Nell, not to mention most of those players I already named.

Its an all recognition list, not a prospect list.

Day won the Memorial Cup with his team, and was very visible in those games. That's basically what propelled him to #2
