Lol A bunch of free agents + Skjei, Graves and Zboro make Clark a better scout than the staff that picked Ellis, Ekholm, Josi, Weber Suter and Jones. That's a superb round file opinion.

I love Day as much as anyone (Zboro not so much), but he hasn't done a thing in the NHL yet. I'll give Clark credit for him when these guys actually make an impact with the big club.

Ellis was not trash before this year and a big LOL to Ekholm only being a "decent defenseman."

But even if we ignore Nashville and the factory they've been for defensemen, Carolina has also been miles better than the Rangers under Clark when it comes to identifying and developing defensive talent.

I believe Kotyk knows Dawson Leedahl, he played jr with his brother Garrett and they all grew up in Saskatoon playing hockey around the same age.

As per Larry Brooks, the Rangers are not expected to qualify Pirri and Clendening, but will qualify Jensen.

Also mentions that Puempel could be qualified, as well.

I think this article from December quoting Gordie Clark makes it pretty clear that the Rangers are going to give Day every chance to play for Hartford this upcoming year.

Windsor loaded up this year for its Memorial Cup participation. Lots of guys leaving including the 3 other top defensemen. Windsor will be much weaker next year. Probably a reason that Rocky Thompson left. I doubt the Rangers would want to send him back to Windsor.

I don't think he can. He's too young to play in the AHL.

Because of his exceptional status Day has played 4 years of CHL and so is eligible for the AHL even though he hasn't hit 20 yet

Either of the two would be fantastic. It would be great watching the WJC with a rooting interest beyond being an American, like in 2010 or 2013 or some other years not as memorable.

He is, but since he was snubbed by Hockey Canada he's now part of USA Hockey where we played Juniors. He pulled a Brett Hull.
