The interview with Kovac was good, not that tremendously informative but straight forward.
Its fairly long, but in short he said the following:
-He was among the trio of players last cut from camp and the coaches in NY praised his play and said that he should go down to the AHL and work hard because the chance might come for him to be called up.
-He said that his ten first games in the AHL went fairly well, but after that he got a reduced role with much fewer minutes per game.
-On a question if he thought it was hard to play the system in HFD he answered: "Yes, I think so. I'm a more technical player who likes to attack with speed, control the puck, pick up speed and then attack. When I got the puck in HFD, I had to play it forward right away which I thought was difficult."
-There is a big difference between the NA game and the game in Europe, you get a lot less time with the puck on the smaller rink.
-I am of course not satisfied with 12 pts, but I learned a lot.
-I do not have to focus on anything particular during the summer, just work hard at everything. Train hard physically, become stronger on the puck, improve my shot.
-I am going back to NA in September. Of course it has been tough at times, but I have never really considered not staying in NA.
-If you get a shot in the NHL, would you be ready? Yes of course!
