For AV it's "I'll put out the worst defenseman in the NHL"

I'm not a fan of AV, but the major point here is who management gave AV on D.

Pitt's D isn't much, but they're far better than who the Rangers have. If your argument is how AV uses his D, the point again becomes why isn't management canning AV for incompetence?

All of those posting here that they hate hockey might want to look into not wasting any more of their time following it.

Let's see. On this shift I will use the best player in the NHL. On the next one I will use the 2nd best player in the NHL.

lol pretty much. Actually lets make it best player/hall of famer/super elite talent followed on next shift by very close to best player/ hall of famer/ Super elite talent.
To have that in a water downed league is pretty damn lucky. A gretzky/ messier combo.

The only other teams that come close to having a combination like that are maybe Edmonton (McDavid and Draisaitl) and if you stretch it a bit further Chicago with Kane and Panarin (Yes, I think Panarin is an elite player in the league)

Roster isn't his fault but putting Staal and Holden out to defend a late lead is unforgivable. (Especially after it already burned him 2x)

Then it's up to management to show him the door.

In any profession, if the second in command sucks, and the first in command leaves it as is, the fault is 100% on the first in command.

McDavid might become Crosby. I doubt Draisaitl becomes Malkin, but it could happen.

Crosby is much better than Kane and Panarin will not become Malkin.

Tank job ********. A brain dead monkey could oversee a cup dynasty by adding two generational talents for free. Imagine Crosby and Malkin on any current NHL roster and easily more than half would be legitimate cup contenders. The Penguins will win the cup again next year. It's at the point where it's like why bother if you don't tank first (or at least have someone else tank for you, a la the Bruins with how they got Seguin).

Realistically how can we beat the Penguins now that they have a competent coach, GM and a goalie that doesn't have mental break downs.

Remember when Washington and Ottawa took the Penguins to 7 games?

Contrary to what most people here think, I don't think Gorton is really backing Vigneault to that extent. Instead of signing him to a 3 year extension that would keep Vigneault here until 2020-2021, we gave him a pay raise on the final year of his current contract from $2M to $4M. So it's only a 2 year extension. It was also given out before his stupidity really showed in the playoffs.

Murray played well, but it made me think of something. If Lundqvist played on Crosby's team, the King would be in a neck and neck race with Jean Bliveau for most cups as a player.

Goalie no matter smh omg just tank ftw pls.com

Basically my thoughts on "if Lundqvist played on X team..." at this point.

His collapses in game 2 in LA, game 3 in Tampa and [enter game here] against Pittsburgh 2016 and Ottawa 2017 are pretty much on him.

The Rangers beat Pittsburgh twice. The Rangers didn't win it all. Pittsburgh is not a great team. The salary cap has made every team mediocre. Pittsburgh makes just enough plays to win. Their D is a joke without Letang. Castoffs from other teams. The Rangers aren't good enough to win the entire thing. They don't have the horses.

Sort of like Murray in games 3 and 4.
