You can have only so many freelancers on the the team this year. Need strong two-way play due to an average defense.

That's silly suggestion.

I'd love to hear a rational explanation for not even inviting him (Garland) to camp. Camp. At least see what he can do. See if he's even better than expected with the other invitees.

Team USA boned Dvo last year, too. Bunch of simpletons.

It seems people commenting on Garland are oblivious to the fact that he was at the summer evaluation camp, was not a stand out, and was cut. He just doesn't have the accceleration, top speed or versatility to compete with the rest of a deep group at right wing. It shouldn't be shocking for him not to be invited.

DeBrincat on the other hand definitely deserves a look as he was not at the summer camp and has gone a long way in showing he was not purely a product of playing with McDavid as so many believed. I'll be interested to see how he does and I think the fact USA Hockey chose not to invite Bracco opens up a real opportunity for him.

Garland was at the summer camp. He didn't perform well. That's why he's not getting invited.

Who was cut at summer camp that has a chance to be at main camp ?

Who wasn't at summer camp that will be at main camp ?

I'll guess MacInnis was cut but will be back. Haven't seen him but heard he's been very good.

Also guess, Borgen ( St Cloud ) and Fitgerald ( BC ) will be there. Both are playing on top 5 teams in NCAA.

As a Canadian, Im loving the Garland and Bracco snubs. Please stop trying to defend USA Hockey in not inviting these guys to camp. Its CAMP. If they dont perform, send them home. But what a mistake to not give these guys an invite at least

I think that you'll find that, as a Canadian, people in this thread don't give a **** about your opinion. Kindly leave and don't tell us what to do.

"Us" as if you made the big decision  if you think this was the right decision, youre out to lunch. If I'm American, this for sure irritates me.

Did I say I thought it was the right decision? The point is I think we'd all prefer if you, as a Canadian, did not come in here and tell us definitively what is right and wrong.

When I said "us", I was referring to you telling "us" not to defend USA Hockey's decision.

Ill stand by my words on this one. No problem saying this was a stupid decision, and if a Canadian said it was a good decision I'd say the exact same thing to them. Literally nothing to do with nationality. Good attempt, though

Boeser and Schmaltz seem like a packaged deal.

They are lighting it up, and just need to find a left winger to join them.

Lol Schmaltz was brutal last year at the world juniors. It is pretty clear USA hockey is absolutely out to lunch. Take a look at who Canada invited to camp...they are going for an all-out offensive team with elite skill and goal scoring 4 lines deep. Their d corps is also extremely deep ...so in order for USA to match this they need to be just as deep as Canada. Why would they omit some of the most skilled guys and not even give them an invite...what a joke! Enjoy the curse of Ron Wilson

We have been talking about these smaller skilled guys for sometime now, we knew they all couldn't make it. And to be honest the second and third most skilled smaller players likely won't get invited either as Keller and Yamamoto are just amazing talents, better than Bracco and Garland...they are just younger which isn't their fault.

But DeBrincat deserves this because of how he plays..he hits, has grit, will go into traffic and muck it up, he can play top 6 or bottom 6 and not hurt this team. I really can't say the same about Garland and Bracco who need top 6 roles to be effective and both simply wouldn't get it.

I understand Garland deserves an invite but if there is no role for him and they know he can't play bottom 6 than why waste his time.

Interesting to see if MacInnis and Logan Brown get invites as both are big kids with skill and both chlers doing very well this year.

This will always bring up debate and issues as like Bonney said has been even when we won gold. I remember crying about John Moore not getting picked for that 2010 team. We will see soon what we have to work with.

This isn't last year, and that Ron Wilson curse must exclude the 96 Wold Cup victory. This team is deep and there will be snubs because of depth, I can live with that over what I have seen in the past.6

You probably should considering Canadians have dominated the US in past world juniors, and in hockey in general. As a Canadian I'm pretty happy about this move as well. If the americans are going for a bottom 6 with less skill thats great too see.

I'm just wondering which of these you think you consider a grinder....

Matthews
Tkachuk
Debrincat
White
Dvorak
Boeser
Milano
Tuch
McInnis
Connor
Roslovic
Schmaltz
Keller
Bellows

And I could name 6 more that don't fall into that category. All are fast, strong, skilled and smart - so who have you actually seen play live in there is a grinder and going to hurt team USA over your complaints about Bracco or Garland?

How does that translate into your opinion being relevant when talking about players you clearly haven't seen?

Why am I not surprised leaf fans are invading this board claiming this team is absolute garbage without Bracco.

:shakehead:shakehead:shakehead

They act like he is putting together some record breaking year. WHICH HE ISNT

Were you on any of the teams?
