I hope, he will be able to play tomorrow against Slovakia. It would be sweet to crush them.

Zacha - Spacek - Pastrnak
Kase - Chlapik - Lakatos
Stransky - Tomasek - Smejkal
Vozenilek - Soustal - Vesely
Ordos

In a perfect world, this is what we could have:

Zacha - Spacek - Pastrnak
Kase - Chlapik - Vrana
Karabacek - Tomasek - Lakatos
Stransky - Soustal - Smejkal
Vesely

Damn it.

In my perfect world are Vopelka and Jenys ;-)

EDIT: Actually in my perfect world we still can use Slovak players :D Masin-Cernak and Zboril-Jaros :P

I think Finnish win in OT would be the best.. of course only in case we will beat the Finns.

Aha yeah I just realized that. Hard to say if we have a chance against Finland. Dang they look good right now. If Zacha and Rasner are 100% healthy, we could keep it close.

For sure we gotta chance.. of course Finns are still the favorites, no dobut about that.
We should be rooting for posibility to end up 1st rather than be happy with 2nd/3rd place.. we should have this kind of winning mentality (especially players though ) so go Finland... :)

Unless we come first in the group we're playing one of Canada/usa/Sweden in the qf. I'm not really confident about our chances against any of them. But let's see.

It's quite interesting that right now our biggest ? is generating some offence. So far our defence and goaltending has been up to the task. That's new..
Pastrnak never even practiced with the team yet. We have a couple days off and a game against Belarus to get the offence going and develope some chemistry. I actually have some fairly high expectations. Probably shouldn't but things are looking alright.
The Finland game will either be close or a blow out. Let's hope it's not the latter. :)
I think as long as we stay disciplined (which we have been so far), then we will keep it close.

Even if we won the group, won against Denmark and got into semifinal, we would still need to win at least one game against a strong opponent to medal. For sure I would like it that way, but if they somehow manage to beat someone strong right in the quaterfinals, they will be much more self-confident for semifinal. All of that is ''if'' so far though.

Yeah beating a tough opponent early on would give them a real boost that's true. Canada seem quite beatable this year. Maybe we have a shot ^^

Is Vrana injured, hes only listed as 6 games in hershey

ok i found it he has wrist injury

The only way we play Canada is if we beat Finland. Looks like we will most likely square up against USA in the quarters.. Yikes

Yeah big yikes... USA is the strongest one from the other group, if we play them it's our end.

Apparently Pastrnak will play on a line with Kase and Lakatos.
Zacha and Rasner likely not playing against Belarus. Frig

Well no worries, we should be able to beat Belarus without them. We'll need them against Finland though.

Guys, I have new line-up suggestion for next games!

Zacha - Dvorak - Pastrnak
Stransky - Spacek - Konecny
Kase - Chlapik - Lakatos
Smejkal - Tomasek - Vesely
Soustal

Does anyone have any complaints? I think that everything looks alright here!

Zacha - Dvorak - Pastrnak
Vrana - Spacek - Konecny
Fiala - Chlapik - Karabacek
Stransky - Kase - Lakatos
Tomasek

:amazed:

If only :naughty:

Though both Dvorak and Konecny are exactly ''half'' czech. They have czech names and maybe like czech grandparents or something, but parents are canadian/american.

Fiala though... I believe parents are czech but they moved to Switzerland?

And last year Draisaitl and Kahun. ☺

Thanks! Surprised Stransky was on the 3rd line again. The kid is good. That 1st goal was dirty.

Yeah he is legit. The goal was a beauty.
Probably the biggest dissapointment is Chlapik, 2nd rounder and he didn't make anything happen yet. You can see him trying to dangle over a player many times and even when he is succesful he continues to dangle over like next 3 players which results in the loss of the puck.

Yeah I agree. It could be partially because he has no chemistry with his linemates. He was playing with different guys this game and limited minutes. But still not that much of an excuse. You would expect much more from him.
I think Petr has to make some big changes up front. I think if we stand any chance, the lines have to look like this.

Zacha-Spacek-Pastrnak
Stransky-Kase-Lakatos
Smejkal-Chlapik-Tomasek
Vesely-Soustal-Ordos
Vozenilek

Im also not against Soustal getting more ice time. I thought he was quite noticable in the game against Canada, with the very little minutes that he had. He's got a lot of skill and size to combine with that.

Even with the perfomace we had against Finns we aren't beating USA. They won't have the ref help, but they are the best team on the tournament, they are going for that gold.
Dang, last year we had ****ing Slovakia in quaterfinal, how did Prerost **** that up?? I just very doubt Petr and playing with heart will be the recipe for success against USA. I hope I am wrong.
