I have the feeling that Boyle is gonna be moved, teams were interested in him before he signed with us, especially if MSL leaves or retires.

Yeah, but he would have to waive his clause. Might do it, might not. I wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket. It also takes away an offensive threat (albeit a declining one) from the back-end.

A lot of the better teams have a mobile defense that can chip in offensively. That's key to a winning team, in my opinion. Hard to lose that offense and not have a suitable replacement....and we're organizationally very thin on the right.

I love how any transaction that you look at with a scrabble face you just add kevin hayes to our side to balance it out.

We would still have Yandle, Mcdonagh (who regressed this year, but I expect to return to norm) and Klein who can help with that. Does it really make sense to pay Boyle 4.5M to play on the 3rd pair? kinda the same issue when it comes to re signing Yandle after next year?

Of course, the moment he got traded unless Yandle lit the world on fire that we got fleeced, Duclair was quickly becoming very popular especially on these boards.

I am convinced that Sather just doesn't want to go to the 1st Round to the draft.

If Tambellini, or Buchenvich, pans out no one will even care about Duclair being traded.

hahha it sure as hell seems that way.. i have faith in this organization..

outside fans, and even experts seem to forget our core is really young still, and as we know you can't pay everyone so eventually you will have to pick and choose who to keep and who to trade.. the trades will recoop assets

We might give up too many 1st rounders (didn't need to give up the 2 for the MSL trade IMO), but I have zero problems with giving up one for a Nash or a Yandle, the likelihood of drafting anyone as good as either of those two is very very slim with where the Rangers would have been picking.

Let's hope Yandle really shows it next season.

Getting a first for Cambot is the priority at the draft. Other than that, we kind of have to work with what we got here.

It was a second but the clause of making it to finals made it another first. They do have the Tampa second for cally signing

If talbot goes for an early second then it's not a big deal as they get a pick maybe 2 away from their first overall 1st

Also, we don't have the best luck with on First Rounders

Skjei- too early to call, judging from what people were saying in the AHL thread, he seems to be learning

Miller- hes doing well

Mcilrath- developing

Kreider- Still young improving

Del Zotto- He was on track then like his shot went wide

Sanguinetti- Not so great

Marc Staal- hes good

Al Montoya- Decent career as a backup, not really worth the 6th overall

Korpikoski- Decent NHL career but not in NY

Jessiman- LMAO yay!

Blackburn- Freak Shoulder injury but was playing well

Of course I won't count Cherepanov (RIP) since unfortunately we never got to see what he could do on an NHL level

Who do we pick though? If the trade goes down.

Chabot? I don't want another d-man.

Bittner? Dropping to late 1st round, but I like his size.

Maybe we can trade-down the 16th overall, for like 20th overall and a 3rd or 4th? And pick Bittner.

I wonder who that papi cholo was that suggested Talbot should be as valuable as the #9 pick in the draft but would realistically get between 15-25??

And if you REALLY thinking about it, the 16 this year is probably just as valuable as the 9 pick was 2 years ago. Stronger draft.

*cue the entire nominees from angriest poster poll coming out in full post and satirizing this post*

I think Cherry was the missing link to a championship.

So if we get the 16th overall pick who do we pick if anyone??

Wouldn't be surprised if we flipped that again for a player now

If we get 16 OA, look for someone like Jeremy Roy, Colin White, Konecny, Zboril, Chabot, or Guryianov.

If we can get a bluechip RHD, you have to do it.

If we get the 16th OA for Talbot, that's a ****ing joke.

How is anyone in their right mind an NHL GM and will give up the 16 OA for Talbot?

Not complaining, considering we'd be absolutely fleecing EDM there, but holy hell.
