Players from round 2 (NHL) can we forget. Time for MÃ¥rts to add Danielsson, Johansson and Thuresson.

Sjögren - Lundqvist - Thuresson could be a very physical 4th line.

But MÃ¥rts will ofcourse go with Danielsson and bench Thuresson and Johansson. Even tought Danielsson is not an grinder but Thuresson and even Johansson is. MÃ¥rts is not logic. This team is super-duper-soft, Thuresson is needed.

Sure, it's still not the B team.

It's the C-team.

We are missing: Sedins, Zetterberg, Bäckström, Johansson, Silverberg, Landeskog, Steen, Hörnqvist, Berglund, Nyquist, Zibanejad, Söderberg, Hedman, Strålman, Ericsson, Kronwall, Brodin, Oduya, Hjalmarsson, Kruger, Edler, Klasen, F.Pettersson, Hersley, H.Lundqvist, Läck, Grossman, Rakell, E.Karlsson, Franzen, H.Lindholm, Omark, Backlund, A.Larsson, Hagelin, Melker, Gunnarsson, Enström, Burakovsky.

That's 40 very good players. Can probably mention even more players.

Who are Finland and Russia missing? 5-7 or maybe 8 good players?

Thats 39 very good players.

You're missing the point entirely.

The point is that the rate of decline for Sweden is staggering in comparison to other teams. Did you get that point?
That's have been my point the whole time... but ppl have just said that all team have the same problem bla bla bla

Only players from this team that would have made our current A-team is OEL and Enroth (backup to Lundqvist and Läck).

Yeah exactely:laugh:

This tournament means more for the other nations then it dose for Sweden ;)! atleast we can brag about that haha ^^!

I believe that Forsberg and Loui would be locks Lindholm, Ekholm, Klingberg and Klefbom would definitely be pushing for a spot.

I was laughing cuz you are right;)

Even tho i wouldent have Zetterberg in the third line

Loui is not an lock, we have so many good players.

Hampus Lindholm is not in this team.

Ekholm, Klingberg and Klefbom is not better than any of the 8Ds I listed above.

I meant Elias Lindholm. I do not believe that either of Ekholm, Klingberg or Klefbom is that far behind a guy like Edler (holy **** that defense). and I do think that Loui would be a lock he's a MÃ¥rts favorite plus he ALWAYS shows up for the world cup (well except for last year, but two concussions in one season jeez) and I believe that he still has more to give.

This tournament means more to Sweden than it means to Canada and USA that's for sure.

Yes, and MÃ¥rts also picked Tallinder over Hedman.;) So sure Eriksson is maybe a lock if we are talking about MÃ¥rts a-team, but otherwise if you ask me he is a borderline player. However he is a role model, all players should be like him and say yes when the national team calls as long as they do not have a really good reason to not.

E Lindholm, Klefbom and Ekholm is not really that close to the a-team at this moment. It takes more than a good spring season to get close to the a-team, and Ekholm is solid, but it is simple to many that standsout. Elias could be a lock in a few years, but that is then now is now.

MÃ¥rts will coach the team next season also and might stay even longer: http://www.aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/hockey/landslag/hockeyvm/article20718500.ab

Someone, shoot me.

It all depends on who would replace him. My feeling is that Grönborg would, and then I prefer Mårts over him.

Could have been playing for Team Sweden (in bold):

Sedin - Sedin - Lindholm
Steen - Bäckström - Hörnqvist
Forsberg - Zetterberg - Nyquist
Johansson - Berglund - Landeskog
Hagelin - Söderberg - Ericsson
Silverberg - Zibanejad -

Lindholm - Karlsson
Kronwall - Ekman Larsson
Hjalmarsson - Hedman
Ekholm - Klefbom
Edler - Klingberg

Lundqvist
Enroth
Läck / Fasth / Lehner

Psychological factors explaining why the Sedins, Ericsson and Kronwall (and others) don't show up for the WC:

- Stress, fatigue (losing NHL teams find themselves in the shadow of death)
- Family factors ("Daddy!!")
- Doesn't want to risk their position in the family hierarchy (Oh, no, playing hockey with my KID brother :) )
- Following the herd (social psychology)
- Real, ****in' severe PAIN (aiii, aiii!)
- Feeling of importance and self worth when declining
- Anxiety: play inferior teams and live in a unknown environmet
- Tired of Hockey? Again?
- Luxury Life get's upper hand on feeling for playing on the national team (corruption)
- A long time of demands and pressure is succeeded by freedom and prosperity.
- Being angry with MÃ¥rts

Please stop the childish nonsense going on in this thread. Sweden takes this tournament just as serious as Finland.

This tournament means more to Sweden than it means to Canada and USA that's for sure.

Probably, that is why we are mad about our players not manning up.

A pedagogical example for those who wonders why Swedish fans are *****ing.
Top 45 Swedish players in points regular season (red not playing; blue ploffs; green on the team):

Bäckström
D. Sedin
H. Sedin

Karlsson
Zetterberg
Steen
Forsberg
Landeskog (Ok he tried)
Nyquist
Hörnqvist

Eriksson
M. Johansson
Zibanejad
Söderberg
Kronwall

OEL
Klingberg
E. Lindholm
Silfverberg
Strålman
Hedman
Hagelin

H. Lindholm
Rask
Rakell
Edler
Berglund
M. Backlund
M. Karlsson
A. Larsson
Enström on #31 who declined last time too as he was going all in for the next season!!
Burakovsky
Franzen
Lander
Wennberg
Klefbom

Hjalmarsson
Ekholm
Järnkrok, well not asked...
Kruger
Brodin
Johan Larsson??
Ericsson
Fast
Grossman

I rather take the red team than the green one, if you compare the colours.

To be honest, many Swedish players are doing well in the play-offs too (our #1 Lundqvist for example). This is something we need to adjust our expectations too, we are a big hockey nation and Canada deals with this all the time. We need to get accustomed to it.
