Where can I find some detailed stats to that match? And where did you find it about Chlapik, Zboril, Jenys? Livesport shows that Zboril got an assist on the czech goal, so they probably really did play.

Edit: nevermind, I found the boxscore. It's really weird, there are all players written on the roster, even Vopelka, Indrak and Prikryl. Could be a mistake, maybe that they just put there the whole preliminary roster. But everywhere is that Zboril got an assist, it could be someone else playing in his jersey number or did he really play?

Nothing found. The boxscore from Hockey Canada is full of mistakes. For example the game ended in a shootout, not in OT. It must be a mistake with Zboril too.

According to FB page Juniorský hokej SK/CZ it was only Spacek who had an assist on Zdrahal goal. so it's probably some mistake with Zboril:dunno:

Spacek wasn't on ice. It should be Zdrahal from Kostalek.

Hi! Just wanted to pop by and ask a quick question.

Do you see the Kase brothers make the Czech WJC squad? If so, will they play together or are they playing in different lines?

O.Kase will play with Kämpf and Vrana. About D.Kase it's hard to say if he makes it. You really never know what our coach will do.

They both will very likely to be in the WJC. Ondrej is pretty much locked. There's one more forward to get cut, could be David but I don't think he will.

If they both will be there, they won't be playing together. At least not from the beginning.

To be honest, I completely lost my hopes for medal this year. My thoughts are now just to get to quarters and not to get relegated. It may sound silly and maybe I'm overreacting but Switzerland is very strong this year and Denmark won't be easy team to play against as well this time. Medal in this situation would be really really hard and we would need tons of luck IMO. Other teams are just too good so we could weaken ourselves just like that. I believe we could be twice as stronger than we are now if it wasn't for the omissions. Just imagine if something happens (crossing fingers) to Vrana or Pastrnak.. look at that forward group without them, that's not very good.

It's really disappointing to see Karabacek cut. I don't know much or anything about some of the guys on this team so I can't speak with authority, but of the guys I do know, Karabacek is as good as many. It definitely seems like yet another coach trying to get too cute with his team-building. I'm a proponent that for tournaments, at least in a moderate sense, if you just put your best players out there you will find that you can fill each role with the talent you have.

This is still a strong squad, though. I don't think that they're better than USA, Canada, Sweden, Russia, or Finland on paper but I do think they they can play with any of those teams and still have chance to medal.

This is the dumbest thing ever. It doesn't surprise me at all tho. I bet Vaclav had a bad game against Finland. But we need to try and be positive here. I know Karabacek is a 2nd round draft pick, and it sucks to lose him but he hasn't been amazing this year so far. He's still a good player and should be there but Zdrahal could probably fill the gap tbh. Karabacek would've likely been on the 3rd line anyways and I bet there is better chemistry in some form between Zdrahal, Mandat, Kase and Spacek(Still should be an exciting group to watch)

Yes, Karabacek should be there ahead of Gorcik, Vozenilek, and Ruzicka, BUT if you really think about it, it's not that bad. It doesn't look good for sure but it shouldn't make all that much difference.

Oh and who cares about Dvorak

obviously i have not a best feeling about the nomination and about the whole tournament. first step must be quaterfinal, but like joey16 said, it won't be easy since Denmark and Switzerland are dangerous as hell this year. and then by some mirracle avoid Canada and USA in the quarterfinals..
but yeah lets be positive, altough the omissions this year's group is still much better than the last year. and we still could make some noise here.
Prerost said they want 4th line full of big and strong forwards, so who is it? i guess Vozenilek, Ruzicka? 1st line is Vrana with Kämpf and Kase, 2nd Pasta with Zacha(i hope) and maybe Kubalik? the 3rd it will be between Spacek, Mandat, Zdrahal and Kase..and the defense definitely doesn't look that horrible as the last year did, despite Zboril's omission still hurts..
So this team still could show something, i will support them, i just can't stand that incompetent idiot on the bench

Its definitely hard to be positive. It makes no sense to cut Karabacek. It makes me sick to my stomach because we wait a whole year to finally have a chance at a medal and this is what happens? very frustrating. But we will have to see how the team plays and how far they go before we can truly criticize everything that Prerost has done. WE feel like this team could be better. But we don't see everything that the coaches do. So we have to be patient and wait for the tournament to start.

I believe that after just the first game against Sweden, we will already know if Prerost made good choices or not. Im worried that we get beat pretty good but you never know. These lines still look good.

Vrana-Kampf-O.Kase
Kubalik-Zacha-Pastrnak
D.Kase/Zdrahal-Mandat-Spacek

Those top 2 lines are amazing.
O.Kase-is believed to be one of the biggest steals of the 2014 Draft. He has been playing very well.
Zacha-Ive seen him play live this year in Sarnia. He is the real deal. And I think he could be one of our top scorers. He is so so good at every single aspect of the game (especially shooting. OMG) and defenders will have a hard time with this kid.

I don't have to say anything about Vrana and Pastrnak but they could be 2 of the top 5 players in this tournament.( I don't think its a stretch to say that either.)They have both been on fire this year. Pastrnak had another nice goal last night. 26 points in 23 games in the AHL. WOW.

Kubalik played well in the 4 nations tournament and hes had a good year and Kampf has that chemistry with O.Kase that will get a lot of goals.
The 3rd line? they will still be tough to handle. Spacek is the best forward of the 97 group after Zacha. The kid knows how to play and I expect great things from him as well as D.Kase who is also an exciting and skilled player. I believe that these 2 will really raise their draft stock by the end of it all.

I still have high hopes for this team. On paper it doesn't look as good as it should BUT. look at how far we got last year with the team we had. Our team sucked yet we made the QF and should have beat Finland (eventual Gold medalisits) if it weren't for Libor Sulak. What does this mean? it means that Prerost has some coaching ability and we can't lose all hope just yet. I don't think we could win Gold, But I sure believe we could make the final.

Lets have some faith in our boys!
