obviously i have not a best feeling about the nomination and about the whole tournament. first step must be quaterfinal, but like joey16 said, it won't be easy since Denmark and Switzerland are dangerous as hell this year. and then by some mirracle avoid Canada and USA in the quarterfinals..
but yeah lets be positive, altough the omissions this year's group is still much better than the last year. and we still could make some noise here.
Prerost said they want 4th line full of big and strong forwards, so who is it? i guess Vozenilek, Ruzicka? 1st line is Vrana with Kämpf and Kase, 2nd Pasta with Zacha(i hope) and maybe Kubalik? the 3rd it will be between Spacek, Mandat, Zdrahal and Kase..and the defense definitely doesn't look that horrible as the last year did, despite Zboril's omission still hurts..
So this team still could show something, i will support them, i just can't stand that incompetent idiot on the bench

You are right the team is still better than last year but the problem is most of other teams are better as well.
And this hurts twice as much since we could've had much stronger team but our coach chose otherwise. It would be a lot easier to take if the guys couldn't have come because of injuries for example but this... it's just incomprehensible
But as you guys said, we should stay positive. I will be cheering for the guys anyway although I would love to see Prerost fail after all this.

Vrana-Kampf-O.Kase
Kubalik-Zacha-Pastrnak
D.Kase/Zdrahal-Mandat-Spacek

Those top 2 lines are amazing.
O.Kase-is believed to be one of the biggest steals of the 2014 Draft. He has been playing very well.
Zacha-Ive seen him play live this year in Sarnia. He is the real deal. And I think he could be one of our top scorers. He is so so good at every single aspect of the game (especially shooting. OMG) and defenders will have a hard time with this kid.

I don't believe Zacha will play on the first two lines. He'll be on 4th line IMO.

How could he possibly be on the 4th line? I disagree with that but if it happens that would be truly upsetting. He's just too good to be put there. Im guessing you havent seen him play this year.

It's not what I would do. It's what I think Prerost will do after the hints in interviews with him

I agree. I had the same feeling from his interview in TV. He probably wants to punish all czech players in american clubs. :shakehead

Its definitely hard to be positive. It makes no sense to cut Karabacek. It makes me sick to my stomach because we wait a whole year to finally have a chance at a medal and this is what happens? very frustrating. But we will have to see how the team plays and how far they go before we can truly criticize everything that Prerost has done. WE feel like this team could be better. But we don't see everything that the coaches do. So we have to be patient and wait for the tournament to start.

Lets have some faith in our boys!

CESI DO TO HO

Totally agree with this. :handclap: We have to hope that Prerost has omitted these players because the other players fit the specific roles he has in mind better.

I'm always going to root for our boys and hope that the team he has (despite the controversial omissions) is the best team he can put together, rather than the best group of talented players.

ČeÅ¡i do toho!

If Prerost puts Zacha on the 4th line, then he's entering Hadamczik coaching territory......with the way he seems to be building the team, it just doesn't make sense.

But I agree with you guys, his comments about Zacha "accepting his position in the team" were concerning.

I actually think he seriously thought about cutting him.

CZE said years ago they were serious about fixing how they develop their young players... and just when it looked like they were serious the past few years they pull stuff like this. I understand that a lot of larger national teams have bias against players in North American leagues but you can't afford to do that when your pool of players is so much smaller.

Yeah, there's always been some politics about players chosen for the national team, but this is on the coach imo.

Why the ******* we have so incompetent coaches at almost every level in hockey? I'm so upset. I'm so excited every year about WJC especially because of timing. It's awesome time but these decisions are ruining it for me. :shakehead

It ruins it for all of us. i still had some faith if Zacha would be on the 2nd line with kubalik and Pastrnak. Putting him on the 4th line is ludacris.

But... I think he is going to have no choice but to play him higher as the tournament goes on. With these kinds of line decisions we are going to get soundly beaten by Sweden. And anyone else for that matter. So he will HAVE to make changes. Unless he is aiming for the relegation round lol. It's just not going to work. And it's not going to be close to good enough.

Who else would centre the mighty David Pastrnak? There's no one there who could keep up with him as well as Zacha. It just doesn't make sense.

I think he might put Spacek there as a second centre. It could work but there would have to be someone third with very good defensive play.

Any comments on Ondrej Kase? I know he's thought highly of amongst the Czech fans but I don't know much else about him.

To paraphrase Coach Prerost, he said that because he had such a talented roster he could afford to cut Karabacek, and that talent on a roster is not all that matters.

Karabacek said he didn't think he should have been cut, but that he's angry at himself.

How disappointing, I was looking forward to watching him on that roster.
