I know he's a vet, but if Bigras makes this team again, that will look as "nice" as last year. They need to evaluate better, because they still seem to have a rather narrow view. Good thing there are superstars to carry this team.

Petan-McDavid-Virtanen (two skilled returnees with the best finisher on the team)
Dal Colle-Reinhart-Baptiste (this line will be the matchup line)
Klimchuk-Domi-Point (small line but it's skilled and feisty)
Crouse-Gauthier-Ritchie (Big old school grinding line)
Fabbri (PP specialist who could take over for Klimchuk)

Nurse-Morrissey
Bigras-Bowey
Morin-Sanheim
Theodore

Not like Bigras is having a great year both offensively and defensively...

Domi - Mcdavid - Virtanen
Point - Reinhart - Fabbri
Dal Colle - Chartier - Klimchuk
Crouse - Gauthier - Ritchie
Petan

Nurse - Bigras
Sanheim - Bowey
Hicketts - Heathrinington
Morin

Fucale
Comrie

From an offensive skill standpoint I would have taken Strome or Marner over Ho Sang too. The guy has fantastic individual skill, but we don't need guys who don't play a semblance of team oriented hockey at the World Juniors.

And for all of the talk of him being this dynamic offensive superstar..bring a PPG player in Junior hockey is pretty pedestrian.

It seems like people are only judging him based on a few games last year. His play this year in the OHL has earned another look. 6th in the OHL among defensemen in scoring and voted the best defensive defenseman in the league by the coaches.

I'm a little surprised by the exclusion of Hawrlyuk and Nastasiuk, only because they right-handed shots and we only have what, 4 of them in the forward group? Handedness doesn't matter as much on NHL-sized ice as on Olympic-sized ice, but it still matters. I'm curious as to whether they overlooked this, or determined that it simply doesn't matter.

I'm not at all surprised that Ho-Sang didn't get the invitation, though I'm disappointed. I thought his play in the Subway Series clearly merited an invitation. Perhaps I'm being a little cynical, but sometimes it seems like Hockey Canada would rather lose (while following a rather outdated template that had worked for them in the past) than win while changing it up a bit and getting as much talent on the roster as possible.

I think Hockey Canada is both overly conservative and prone to over-thinking their selections. To me, it's a product in part of having so many eligible players to choose from. As that number shrinks, the hockey federations are almost forced to take the best players available whether they fit into the ideal team construct of not.

Can't wait for Hockey to drop the Good Ol' Boys mentality.

Cause he's a mature, good ol' canadian boy!

Hosang isn't invited because he's shown zero ability to follow any system. You don't take a kid that's just going to do what he likes out there. No team would.

Crouse is there because he's huge physical and already an excellent defensive forward. He's ideal for a 4th liner now and although he'll likely get cut they want to give the experience to a player that will be a big part of team Canada in the future.

I'll admit that I don't know the players that well, so... is this team talented?

In the past 2-3 years, our third and 4th line have combined for like 1 or 2 goals in the entire tournament.

I think you should recheck your stats...

What did Ho Sang do to upset hockey Canada? He got a slap in the face there.
