Is there actually a chance that Ho-Sang makes the team?? I mean, he's something special, but I haven't seen a sign of him being heavily considered.

I cannot see it. For his on ice play, yes, but his consistant questioning of authority, his inability to even remotely grasp that he needs to adapt his game and behaviour to team goals, and his general disruptiveness would mean no.

Do some people really think Reinhart will be put on the wing? I can't think of too many #2 overall picks playing in their second WJC who are natural centers being moved to the wing.

Hockey Canada's Ryan Jankowski said Josh Ho-Sang, like other '96-born first rounders, has not shown the "maturity" to be on this stage.

Not really mad at any of the selections. Is Ho-Sang that much better then every player on the roster that not having him on the team is going to sink us?

When one of the main concern year after year is being outskilled by other teams, you don't leave arguably your 2nd most skilled player in the country off.

Idk, for some reason, that just sounds utterly stupid. You should take the best players, not the most mature ones or the ones that were on the team last year.

I'm a little surprised by the exclusion of Hawrlyuk and Nastasiuk, only because they right-handed shots and we only have what, 4 of them in the forward group? Handedness doesn't matter as much on NHL-sized ice as on Olympic-sized ice, but it still matters. I'm curious as to whether they overlooked this, or determined that it simply doesn't matter.

I'm not at all surprised that Ho-Sang didn't get the invitation, though I'm disappointed. I thought his play in the Subway Series clearly merited an invitation. Perhaps I'm being a little cynical, but sometimes it seems like Hockey Canada would rather lose (while following a rather outdated template that had worked for them in the past) than win while changing it up a bit and getting as much talent on the roster as possible.

Can anyone explain why Crouse is invited? I haven't watched him play this season but his stats are very underwhelming to get an invite as a 17 year old.

If Morin is fit and 100% then the defence will most likely be
Nurse - Morrissey
Fleury - Bowey
Morin - Bigras
Theodore
If not then Sanheim comes in.

Because scouts that actually watch him love him. I know a scout that still has him top 5.

Big body player, hard on the forecheck not flashy but hard shot. Definitely questionable even for an invite, really didnt see it happening and thats not because he isnt good, its just as an underage i dont think he is quite there. He had a good showing at the SSS in Kingston, he reminds me of a little less lunatic version of Ritchie... lol

He is.

Heard Button say he would be shocked if Bigras made it. Whether that's his opinion or he heard from someone on the inside, I don't know.

Bigras is having his best junior year both offensively and defensively so I don't know what the hell Button is talking about.
