Anyone can explain why isn't Strome there?

I guess they felt they had enough skill and didnt need to invite any super skilled players so they didnt bother inviting the super skilled 97's (strome, marner etc) and instead invited the more of a role player 97 in crouse because they felt they were lacking in that position? My guess anyways.

Dal Colle - McDavid - Fabbri
Klimchuk - Reinhart (C) - Virtanen
Domi - Petan- Ritchie
Elie - Gauthier(A) - Baptiste
Point

Nurse (A)- Morrissey
Fleury - Bowey
Morin - Bigras
Theodore

Fucale
Comrie

(Assuming Drouin, Duclair, Horvat & Lazar all stay with their clubs.)

Ho-Sang should have gotten an invite. Crazy skilled. also great puck mover and decision maker on the power play from the point. HC must not have seen the SSS. Strome and marner should have gotten an invite as well.

Captain: Sam Reinhart
Ass't Captain:Josh Morrisey
Ass't Captain:Frederick Gauthier
Ass't Captain:Curtis Lazar

Not that it is important but Gauthier wasn't even chosen as a captain or an alternate on his own junior team. I doubt he's that much of a leader in a locker room.

I see McDavid getting an A.

The SSS rewards individual skill because there is little structure and chemistry, an environment Ho Sang excels in. These things matter greatly at the WJC and Ho Sang is not good at them. He is still a very selfish player and a turnover machine. I completely agree with not inviting him.

Hockey Canada's Ryan Jankowski said Josh Ho-Sang, like other '96-born first rounders, has not shown the "maturity" to be on this stage.

Can't wait for Hockey to drop the Good Ol' Boys mentality.

Can anyone explain why Crouse is invited? I haven't watched him play this season but his stats are very underwhelming to get an invite as a 17 year old.

Cause he's a mature, good ol' canadian boy!

You're being selected to represent your country, maturity is important.

They're also being selected to win for their country.

I feel like this team is worse than last year's team. Losing Ekblad, Drouin, Pouliot, Mantha and Reinhart are pretty big losses IMO.

I am mad at the internetz!

I hope the team ends up looking like this:

Fabbri - McDavid - Virtanen
Dal Colle - Reinhart (A) - Duclair
Domi - Horvat (C) - Lazar (A)
Ritchie - Petan - Baptiste
Dickenson

Morrissey - Bowey
Nurse - Theodore
Fleury - Hicketts
Morin

Fucale
Comrie

I know we most likely won't get all three of those guys but wow this team is good. That would be one of team Canada's best ever third lines.

This might be the softest team Canada has sent in years

? Morin, ritchie, Nurse, Virtanen, Domi are soft? plz tell that to their face.... You need a balance! you know how these games are called, we cant afford to be spending the whole game in the box...

Unskilled team with spotty goaltending. Sounds like a six-peat.

Unskilled? Yes mcdavid reinhart domi petan dal colle morrisey all super unskilled, everyone on this team is skilled.. save for maybe a few which i wont name, but they bring other things to the table..

Some people will find anything to B and complaing about. Its borderline sad

Ho Sang not even a shot at the camp? Come on Jankowski you gotta be kidding me.

Really? Because Ritchie got in trouble with his team for egging someone's car to the point the car was damaged and they had no qualms about inviting him.

Wow, no Ho Sang because hes not mature enough? :pullhair: I don't want another year of bronze.

Bronze? That would be an improvement given that we've finished 4th the last two years.

Ho-Sang is 39th in OHL scoring give it a rest, putting too much weight in one good game.

I'd play McDavid on the wing, don't know how strong that hand will be on faceoffs. He and Reinhart play well together.

McDavid-Reinhart-Virtanen?
