After seeing the recent ticket prices on stub hub, I definitely should have waited it out. I paid face for section 418 ($249 per ticket) on 1/26 vs NJ through ticketmaster. NHL done sucked me in and got me.

same here..wish i had waited but oh well.

also anyone with a ticket to the season ticket holder skate at yankee stadium selling there tickets to it? I would love to go.

The Rangers have these events for there STHs and they frown on them being resold.

I think the NHL could do a better job promoting this. LA made headlines about a week ago with a volleyball court, cheap but it works. People take notice and talk about it. They had musical acts and some other attractions announced weeks ago. These things sell tickets. I'm not saying that it would sell out both of these games if NY was promoted in a similar way, but it could make the prospect of going more attractive for many who are on the fence about it.

I've been whining about this for weeks. We are less than a week away and there has been very little information about what to expect at this event, and general information for fans. If you go to Yankee Stadiums website for upcoming events, it says "more information coming soon" for the stadium series games. Its said that for weeks. What's the holdup? Or are they just not doing anything...

Fans have questions about tailgating, gate times, performances, activities. We have to go digging around for this information. Very unprepared and unorganized, at least from a public relations standpoint. Its apparent that the Yankees have no interest in helping the NHL sell the game and create a warm atmosphere for the fans who are shelling out top dollar for these games. The NHL, Rangers and Devils haven't done much to let their fans in on whats going on either, though i'm not sure how much control they have over the event.

6 days away. Not a single announcement yet. Dodger stadium released a rendering and a lineup of acts weeks ago. Nothing even close to that for a stadium that is hosting several hockey events this upcoming week, not just one. Fans have a right to be upset and like you said, they are having difficulties selling out the games because of it.

I understand what you are saying, but why should Yankee Stadium care? They are just renting them the building. My guess is, they are not really having anything and the last thing they want is people tailgating. They want everyone to go in and buy their over-priced garbage.

The Yankees only care about the gate. It's obvious. One tweet from https://twitter.com/Yankees in the past week and its a shot of the ice surface being built with the words "its coming.". Seems like they are thrilled, lol

If they aren't prevented in anyway by the Yankees to promote the damn thing, it's the NHLs fault for half-assing this event. The issue I have is that its not a single game. Its two NHL games and several high school games. Nothing suggests to this point that they are going into this with the idea of celebrating the game of hockey, giving the fans what they've been asking/waiting for. Its a missed opportunity by both the NHL and Yankees and it marginalizes outdoor hockey games. This is what a lot of people thought from the start adding all of these stadium series games in addition to Winter Classic. Theres very little thats been done to get the fans excited.

And thats fine if the Yankees don't want tailgating. But someone has to alert the 50,000 hockey fans that are coming because it could pose a problem and a safety issue. Something like this doesnt come along so you know people are going to be sauced for this one, gotta stay warm.

Quick question for anyone who is familiar with seating at Yankees Stadium. I have seats 21, 22 and 23 in Section 329. Which of those is closest to the aisle? Thanks.

Edit, assuming there aren't more than 40 seats in the row 23 should be closer to the aisle.

At Yankees Stadium, seat 1 is always located closer to the lower numbered adjacent section. For example, seat 1 in section 425 would be closest to seat 24 in section 424.

how could it cause a safety issue? They have 50,000 people there on a regular basis. Yankees do not care about the gate. The ticket revenue goes to the NHL. Yankees care about getting a rent check from the NHL. As far as celebrating? What do you want them to do? Is having live music going to "celebrate" the game of hockey? Do you want some kind of steetfair/block party? And frankly, aside from the players and their parents, who cares about HS games?

Does this give an validity to people saying NY is not a great hockey market since the game can't sell out (is the Devils game in jeopardy too)?

Absolutely not. The NHL priced itself into this situation. If this was the Winter Classic with the 24/7 leading up to it and being the only outdoor game of the season, the prices would be justified and the game would have been sold out a long time ago.

The majority of the fans decided it was too expensive and to either wait it out or not go entirely. I choose to wait it out til day of, and it looks like by that time I may be able to get in the door for $50.

@petebrown78

At the present time no skating sessions or special events will be taking place for the public leading up to the game.

What a disgrace. The NHL is dropping the ball on this one, completely. Idiotic. Lets pump up a game and advertise the hell out of it so everyone can buy inflated tickets, but have no entertainment or special events to promote the game of hockey or give the fans something extra for their money.

Even if they are going to have some sort of half-assed entertainment that doesnt fit the bill, like Cee-Lo Green, they will wait until the last minute to announce it to the fans. The game is essentially a week away.

Meanwhile in Calfornia they are setting up an oasis for their fans with tons of activities and cool **** to do, the right way. Becoming more apparent that the Yankees just wanted the gate for these games and want nothing to do with celebrating the game of hockey.

Could it be that there is just no space around the stadium to do this? There are no big open parking lots where these events can occur. And let's face it, Yankee Stadium sits in an absolute dump neighborhood where nobody wants to linger even 1 second longer than they have to.

plus the game is at 12:30 on a Sunday when it really should've been a 7:30 start on a Saturday. At least then Devils and Ranger fans could've organized meetups at bars in and around the city...then not worried about work the next day. Where am I going to go drink at 10am that morn?

Citi Field would've been a better venue. You actually have a parking lot to host some festive events. Not that the surrounding area is great either, but at least they're going to work on cleaning that up.

Agreed on the price. Should have made the price similar to Giants tickets pricing (Aside from the club seat prices) at 85-125, maybe a LITTLE higher. Both games would have sold out and there would be a decent secondary market. But, at these prices, too many people decided to buy both, go to one sell one. 5 people do it, no problem. 5000 people do it? Problem.

Who's down for Roll Call at the games? Seems like the Rangers are on board. Let's try to spread the word!

RT @NYRangers @metrangerfan711 we are all for that at the games!! #NYRollCall #NYRally

In NYC area? If you can get to Bryant Park tomorrow at noon the Rangers, Isles and Devils are hosting an event at the rink with ex-players.

I predict.... Graves, Fotiu, Greshner, and Dugay, for the Rangers.

Big risk on those guesses, i know.

#NHL announced there will be a fan zone inside the Great Hall during #StadiumSeries games at Yankee Stadium. Opens 2 hours before puckdrop

What's entailed in the fan zone...who knows

I would assume that the vast majority of people going to these games live in the area and have been to Yankke Stadium before. That being the case, you wouldmalso know the rules about tailgating, etc... Citi Field is worse. They have large open lots and police them like crazy. I think they are tougher on tailgating there than at Yankee Stadium. That said, this isn't football. They want you to spend your money in the Stadium. There are plenty of bars around the stadium to frequent before the game if that is your thing.
