I would assume that the vast majority of people going to these games live in the area and have been to Yankke Stadium before. That being the case, you wouldmalso know the rules about tailgating, etc... Citi Field is worse. They have large open lots and police them like crazy. I think they are tougher on tailgating there than at Yankee Stadium. That said, this isn't football. They want you to spend your money in the Stadium. There are plenty of bars around the stadium to frequent before the game if that is your thing.

They police the parking garages at Yankees Stadium?

the starting time for the game is 12:30, who in their right mind would want to drink alcohol between the hours of 10 am and 12:30? I am a hard core drinker when I go out, but certainly not at that time of the day, I'll have my starbucks coffee at that time no thanks

When I go to a Giants game, I start drinking around 9:30 for a 1pm game.

If you are parking in the Citifield lots, just have to have it in a colored cup. When I go to Mets games, which is not that often these days, I park either underneath the Van Wyck, or in the Marina. Never a problem drinking in either spot.

The NHL had an event today at Bryant Park promoting the outdoor games. Brian Leetch,Mike Richter and Dave Maloney were there. Boomer Esiasson was there in the Rangers sweater. Glenn Healey,Pat Flatley and Eric Cairns were there for the Islanders. All of those guys played for the Rangers too. EJ Hradek was on the ice too wearing the Islander sweater. Ken Daneyko,Grant Marshall and Jim Dowd for the Devils. It was cool seeing Leetch and Richter up close. Each side played each other in 3 on 3 hockey.

Laura Behnke from channel 7 WABC was there too. She posted pics in her twitter timeline

Rangers just opened up a few seats to the public, including Delta Club seats, which is the only club open for warmth. Unfortunately, it's a targeted promo from their email list, so I have no link to post. Just FYI if you are still looking.
