Yup, I paid just over $200 to sit in the back of section 127 & hope to have a decent view. I know many of you have it worse. It is absolutely ridiculous that the only additional entertainment they have spoke of is essentially a big stadium series store.
At the same time it's easy to sit around and complain about it, but it's still an outdoor game in New York and may never happen again, or at least not for many years to come. I know I chose to attend before being aware of any additional entertainment. I'll get over it, dress up warm and hopefully have a blast. I've been burned worse.
I'm with you. I couldn't care less about additional entertainment or any other non-sense. But, based on how this has gone, and how the LA-Anaheim sales have gone, this Stadium Series might be a one and done deal. When I was given the chance, I bought additional tickets for friends, that had a chance to buy even more. Was thinking of getting them to flip, but decided against it as I didn't want to lay out the money. Glad I did.
If they ever plan to do this in NY again, have to do 3 things:
1) lower prices (haha, yeah right, ok you can stop laughing now, you don't want to pee your pants). If prices were more in-line with Giants tickets, I think more Rangers STH would have bought and kept the tickets for both games instead of the "attend one, flip one" idea which saturated the secondary market.
2) WEEKENDS ONLY. If the Devils game was Wednesday and the Isles Sunday, the Devils game would be the bigger disaster with tickets.
3) Bring in another market. Have the Bruins come down, their fans would travel for a weekend. Flyers, Caps, Pens, even the Habs.
