looks like the Yankees strong-armed our friend at webledblue.com and sent a cease & desist letter for the Stadium Series T-shirt. Here's a copy of what it looked like:

blueshirts1.jpg

you can no longer buy it:
http://www.webleedblue.com/blueshirts_shop.html

anyone lucky enough to snag one of these before they got shut down?

They kept emphasizing that the shirts were limited edition and wouldn't be out for a while so I wonder if they put em on sale for a day or two hoping to sell a ton and then yank em down before the Yankees saw the shirts.

It seems like they are half-assing the yankee stadium games with everything. Kinda felt that way from the start. Hevent seen any renderings like that for the Yankee Stadium games.

Dan Craig, the ice guru guy is setting up the rink for the Dodger Stadium game - probably because its a lot more challenging given the temperature. His son is doing Yankee stadium for the first time on his own, with a different crew. They need to set up the rink for 2 NHL games and several high school matches.

According to accuweather.com, the extended forecast for the January 26 Devils-Rangers contest currently shows 70 percent chance of snow showers with a high of 34 degrees and a low of 29

Hopefully it doesnt rain, or we might be sitting there for hours waiting for the game to start... with nothing to see or do apparently. Or worse, have it rescheduled for Monday or Tuesday. I really hope they did their homework with these events, because people are paying a lot of money to get in the building. At least for the Sunday game.

I imagine that if you stayed in your seat the view would be of whatever the NHL throws down on the outfield and a lot of glass reflections around the rink. I just can't imagine those seats providing any decent view of the game at all.

the bleacher seats are gonna suck. miles away from the action and the giant TV screen so you can actually see what's going on will be BEHIND you.

Hey...those premium seats are you actually in a suite or is it still outside in the stadium?

The seats are outside just like the other 200s but you can choose to go inside to the lounge and enjoy the amenities. Here's the info from the Yankees website.

Delta SKY360° Suite

The Delta SKY360° Suite encompasses 4,476 square feet of indoor and outdoor space accommodating up to 450 guests for events such as cocktail receptions, weddings and holiday parties on a non-game day. Located directly behind home plate, the indoor lounge includes a four-sided cocktail bar, plush leather couches, high-definition televisions and recessed lighting that illuminates classic photographs of Yankees greats. Floor-to-ceiling windows lead to an outdoor terrace and offer panoramic views of the playing field and center field scoreboard, customizable for any event.

Anyone get a ticket lanyard yet or seen any around for sale? Saw a kid walking around last night with a Stadium Series lanyard so I asked his father where he got it and he said it came with the tickets.

I never got one, and I bought through both the Rangers and through ticketmaster. wish I had one

Apparently Living Social is offering great "deals" on the games. Wonder if people buying here have ever heard of stubhub.

This is not coming from the NHL or Yankees, it looks like this company "PrimeSport" bought out several sections with the intention of selling packages but the market never materialized at their price. Now they're dumping to salvage whatever they can.

It's the weirdest ad ever,
"Famous NYC Ball Park" instead of "Yankee Stadium"
"Pro Hockey Teams" instead of "NHL"
"New Jersey or Long Island foes" instead of "Devils & Islanders"

If you decide to buy, get 3 other people to buy because living social gives you the deal for free when three other people buy with your link. Also there's a $20 off code "LSJAN20" and you can get 4% cashback using ebates.com

So doing the math if 4 people shared the costs equally (with the free 4th ticket):

( ($290-$20) x 3 ) * (1 - 4%) = $776.60 / 4 = $194.40 per ticket, which is still well above market, so that VIP package in the Legends would have to really be worth your while for this deal to make sense

At the present time no skating sessions or special events will be taking place for the public leading up to the game.

What a disgrace. The NHL is dropping the ball on this one, completely. Idiotic. Lets pump up a game and advertise the hell out of it so everyone can buy inflated tickets, but have no entertainment or special events to promote the game of hockey or give the fans something extra for their money.

Even if they are going to have some sort of half-assed entertainment that doesnt fit the bill, like Cee-Lo Green, they will wait until the last minute to announce it to the fans. The game is essentially a week away.

Meanwhile in Calfornia they are setting up an oasis for their fans with tons of activities and cool **** to do, the right way. Becoming more apparent that the Yankees just wanted the gate for these games and want nothing to do with celebrating the game of hockey.

It looks like they are building a 2nd rink in the infield like they do for every Winter Classic, so there is something going on there but it is surely not 'public'.

I feel the same way, that it's terrible we don't know of any special ANYTHING that is going on besides an outdoor NHL game, but there is still a week so I'm holding out some hope that there will be something nice for us that fits the bill.

You'd think that they would rush to announce something so people buy up a chunk of tickets for the Wednesday game. They must really have nothing set up yet.

i think you guys are just reading it wrong. leading up to the game they are concerned with the build up of the rink, just as they are in dodger stadium. why would they hold events on the ice that are open to the public before the games are played?

not happening in LA, not happening here either.

after the games are played is a different story, as season ticket holders are allowed to skate at yankee stadium and im sure there will be other things going on while the rink is still up.

I was referring to pregame & intermission attractions. Expecting any truly public skating is a pipe dream. It's never going to happen.

Stadium Series tickets for sale

I have two great seats available for the Stadium Series game on the 26th vs the Devils. The seats are in section 128, row 24, aisle seats. $400 for the pair (which is face value). Although lower level, the seats are high enough up that you should get a great view of the ice.

Can accept Paypal payment and then send tickets via UPS or FedEx. PM me if you are interested.
