Going to the Islanders game. Thinking about driving out from LI. Is that a bad idea? How is the parking in the garages?

market is crashing - bottom totally fell out for the Islanders / Rangers outdoor game lol

Free fall, still over 9300 seats for sale and the game isn't even sold out on ticketmaster

$60 gets you in right now. I guess I'll be taking a big loss on this one

^ That is a beautiful sight....for buyers of course. I'll definitely be going to the game now, but will wait it out longer till the drop even more. No doubt they'll continue to free fall with over 9k tickets left.

EDIT: Do you guys think the foul pole will be an obstruction if you're sitting in section 407A or 407B?

You want to be towards center field in 407A or towards home plate in 407B

Wow, I didn't think the demand would be crazy for this game, but I never expected this low. I'm so tempted to buy now, but at this rate I might as well wait until day of.

I think if your goal is to just get in the door, then that'll probably work. But if you want good seats then you should probably jump on them when the price gets reasonable. I've seen a bunch of decent seats get lowered but they got snapped up really quick. The tickets that aren't selling are mainly in the outfield

Judging from where they laid out the boards in August, the corner boards will be lined up just about with first and third.

So it looks like the pole will be right across the middle of the ice from the corner OF seats. I've been using the Yankees Virtual Venue to try and scout out the best spots.

I'm debating which I'd rather go for. I guess it depends who I'm going with. Do you know if they sold standing room only tickets? If not I'll probably just do what I do for baseball: buy something cheap to get in and stand the whole game. There are pretty decent spots to stand behind 327 that should be perfect for the layout.

Always appreciate your insight on all ticket related things whether it be on NYYFans, Baseball-Fever, or here. What seat numbers do you think would be ideal with no obstruction? I believe seat 1 is closer towards home plate, correct?

Thanks

I'm having a hard time gauging the value of seats for this game, maybe somebody here could help me out..

Just wondering from an objective point of view (price not being a factor), what are most likely the best sections from which to view the game? 200s? 300s? First few rows of the Grandstand? Also wondering which area of those levels would provide the best view (Behind home plate, 3rd base, 1st base) and which side the Rangers are going to be shooting twice on.

Any info is much appreciated, thanks :)

From the seating charts, the 200's down the baselines and behind home plate (center ice) seem to be the highest priced. I have seats in 326 and they are 279$ (face value) 100$ more than the same seats in the 100's two sections closer to the rink.

That definitely suggests that the pitch of the stadium seating isn't designed correctly for hockey (why would it be), so the higher you go the better the sight lines (generally speaking) - until you get way up there...

218-222 at center ice are probably the best seats if you like the center ice view. Anything in the 200s should be good in the baseball foul territory. I'm hoping the 300s aren't too far up for a good view. I'm right behind the net essentially on the 3rd base side. Anything in the outfield, fair territory, is lower priced because it's further away from the rink. Some seats out there might not be bad though.

With Yankee stadium though, you could get any seat in the building and walk around the open concourse and find some awesome views if you get lucky and are willing to stand.

As far as shooting sides, I'm guessing that the Rangers will shoot towards the right field side of the stadium twice, like they did in Philly since they are the away team.

I believe the best seats will be the elevated center ice seats, 220A-C, 320A-C, and 420A-C, with the 200s being the best.

They'll have a view similar to this one at the 2012 Winter Classic (400 level pictured)

Sections 218A-222 are Delta Suite seats, which will also have access to the Delta SKY360 Club, which is the only open club for the game (for those who want to warm up between periods).

The Jim Beam Suite will not be open for the game for people in 317-321.

Sorry but I think those are equally bad seats (for hockey). You will probably be watching the game on the giant screen. Those seats are so low that I think you can just see the players' heads.

Looking for 3 Delta Suite seats for the 1/26 game vs Devils.

Please PM if you have any. Thx.

13, you'll be closer to the rink and you'll have a more natural angle to look at the scoreboard in center field.

Those are youth hockey tickets, you're not trying to resell kids tickets are you? :nono:

Let's not forget there will be close 200,000 folks coming to the area that week who may be interested in going. So prices can fluctuate.

From what I understand the Islanders as the home team have not done a good job at selling their allotment of tickets while the Rangers sold most of theirs. Many of the tickets flooding the market were actually given to the Islanders to sell originally and their fans did a terrible job supporting them as the home team.
