RIP any chance of MSL's point-per-game (or near PPG) production

He played with Palat and Johnson after Stamkos got hurt and put up nearly a PPG. He'll be fine with Miller. I still propose this top 6:

KREIDER-STEPAN-MSL
NASH-BRASSARD-ZUKE

Fill in the bottom 6 how you please. This is the teams top 6 moving forward. Doubt an impact forward is signed this offseaon..

Very curious to see what happens.

Does Sather think he can go bargain bin shopping for depth? These guys are going to be just an expensive as the guys hes prepared to let go (guys that proved they could be part of a cup final team).

Florida and the Islanders have to get to cap floor. Obviously Sabres cut him loose.. he had his best productive season with AV, and I do believe a reunion is possible, but who knows.

I think it's more notable that he had his best season with the Sedins scoring 198 points. It's a lot easier to look good as a defenseman when you have a couple of elite forwards playing at the top of their game.

Bingo.

His best hockey is behind him anyway.

12:30 PM - "Breaking News: NYR sign Paul Stastny to 7 year term"

My only expectation for today.

That and Dan Boyle signing w/ the Lightning.

My thoughts for today;

Staal (+) for ROR
Sign Ehrhoff to replace Staal
Sign Penner to replace Pouliot
Manage to re-sign Strålman (PLEASE!)
Moore re-signs

Lindberg will surprise alot of people next season.

Vrbata will get PAID

This has Sather written all over it

I doubt it. And I am betting Boyle goes to TB as well.

I think Ehrhoff is the Rangers big splash

Could be.

AV connection.

But I've never seen Sather miss out on a big ticket FA unless he literally had no available cash. Like Kovalchuk right after he signed Gaborik.

I'd welcome a Staal for ROR trade, provided they immediately resigned Stralman or signed him right before the trade (better).

This would be helpful for many, for example people think Hank pushed Slats for an expensive contract (he got a fairly modest one):

http://greatapes.ca/capinflator/

We can for example see how Hank was signed for so much less than either Gomez or Drury.

UFA's I want: Strålman, Niskanen, Perreault, Grabovski, Gilbert, Ehrhoff, Fayne. (Del Zotto)

UFA's I don't want: Anyone not on the above list.

My final predictions:

Stastny - 7 years @ 6.75-6.85
Fayne - 4 years @ 2.75-2.85
D.Moore - 3 years @ 1.4-1.5
4th liner - 1 or 2 years @ 1-1.2 mill

I think that between Boyle and Ehrhoff, it would be Boyle on a shorter contract. It may be neither. Boyle may go elsewhere. Stralman may surprise and stay. I'm just thinking that Ehrhoff goes for more than 2 years and Boyle for 2 and Sather would pick the guy for a shorter term. Further, I think Boyle is better offensively and given the same cost, that's Sather's pick. We will see...cap space is limited and there is only so much he can do.

I hope not. I hope they realize that Ehrhoff is a MUCH better overall defenseman and provides very similar offense. He is worth the investment at this point. Boyle is not.

All these players hitting UFA are going to rue the fact that they didn't escalate the cap to $71 million.
