The smart deal here is
Shesty, Tro, Othman + Jones
for
Byfield, Clarke, Helenius + Dvorak
we can keep LaF or deal him to Canadian based team where he has mo value
Shoulder injury basically ended Barry Becks prime.Any kind of an injury is bad for our little fellow . The shoulder is important for hockey players ...especially a Dman ! Imagine puck retrieval with a bum shoulder ...imagine firing shots from the point ? Imagine even trying to hold/push guys off....
Didnt Dermott get claimed by the Oil?I know Drury usually doesn't work on weekends but today is a Wednesday. With Fox/Miller hurt last game, and Schneider banged up too, why didn't he place a claim on Dermott?

If Drury's existing plan was to move Lindgren, Kreider, Smith etc by TDL then yesterday's injuries should only put more support behind writing this season down & start setting selves up for 2025-2026 and beyond.
On the other hand if his primary directive (self imposed or pushed down from Dolan) is to make playoffs than who know what kind of additional steps to take or not would be required now (plan B). I'm hoping this is not the case but who knows.
Why would Zibanejad? And he’s the only one who counts.Would anyone be open to a:

Based on injuries, performance, etc I do not think our team should be making moves based on our existing guys or even coaches. Many of todays players may not be here in 2 years. I think we just need to make moves to get younger, faster, and tougher every chance we can. If we can't do that with a trade for a player or prospect then just take back picks for either a draft or future trade package.Do the injuries to Fox and Miller affect Lindgren being moved?
4 games to the deadline. Gotta hope neither is serious.
Also need to hope Lindgren gets through the next 3 or 4 games un fazed, so theres at least a chance their could be bidding on him.
Kings were burned with PLD trade.
There is no way they will trade for old, expensive, perimeter-oriented player like Panarin.
I would say there’s no way they’re trading names like Kempe or Byfield. That’s delusional. Clarke is a maybe. Turcotte and Jeannot and a 1st doesn’t seem like a no way. Our players have tanked their own values a bit this season. For two playoff runs at 50% Bread is definitely still valuable but there isn’t a world where he returns Kempe or Byfield at this point.
My point is Kings do not need Panarin even for not a big return.I would say there’s no way they’re trading names like Kempe or Byfield. That’s delusional. Clarke is a maybe. PLD was 25 last year and his whole appeal was the potential of being a power center. How does him being a lazy malcontent preclude them from wanting Artemi Panarin?Kings were burned with PLD trade.

Drury feverishly checking puckpedia to see if he has any 2nd round picks between now and 2030 that he hasn’t used yetHow many hours passed between Valimaki clearing waivers and us going down two top 4 d lmao
My point is whatever the plan was (as already readjusted during 2024 fall from grace) - it shouldn't change based on yesterday's injuries. And all indications are that that plan was to sell.I get where you're coming from it's just that it would be just dumb at least on an organizational/player development level. If you're main mission is making a profit selling tickets for two playoff games---which is pretty much what happens if the team goes out in the first round after 4/5 games then I guess but......
Also we don't know how secure Drury feels and what he might try to save his job if he doesn't feel secure but IMO not selling and relying on hope can only hurt the team's future.

Edit: Honestly the closer we get to the TDL the more anxiety I feel that it will go wrong even though so far I generally haven't seen Drury misreading the situation. He might fail on the execution end but not in identifying the areas to address.
