I think he'll be in the neighborhood of 2 years at $4-5 million per.

Didn't the Islanders offer him $5.5m? Or did I dream that?

Sorry, read it as Brian Boyle.

Even so, it'd be extremely foolish to give Dan Boyle more than $4M year when hes nothing more than a PP specialist at this point.

If Boyle gets a contract similar to Prusts, 10 mill for 4 years, I think I'd be ecstatic.

Boyle @2.5, Moore @1.5, IDC

I'd be happy with that.

From a Rangers perspective, absolutely. I think around the league, he and Stralman will be coming home with similar paychecks.

I'd rather have Stralman than D. Boyle.

I'd rather have D. Boyle than Klein.

I'd rather have Klein than Del Zotto.

I'd rather have Del Zotto than Bickel.

I'd rather have Bickel over... nvm, game ends here. :(

But (Brian) Boyle doesn't want to be here if he's a fourth-liner.

If Boyle is more than a fourth-liner, I don't want him here.

Let him go to a middling team and be a 3C there. Pot 10 goals a year, maybe. Kill penalties. And realize that he is what he is, a great 4C.

People would complain that'd be too much for Boyle.

They'd be wrong.

I said 2.7 would be fair value for him. 2.5 would be excellent.

1.5 would be excellent for D. Moore. I'd say 1.8 would be fair value.

IDC who the right side of that line is. Whoever it is will benefit directly from Boyle and Moore the same way Dorsett did. Doesn't have to be Winnik, or Dorsett, or Carcillo. Whoever it is will succeed in that role.

This is classic taking a quote and running to false conclusions.

Brian Boyle said he'd like a bigger role. Who wouldnt? It doesn't mean he won't be with the Rangers.

And who knows how things shake out? I could very easily envision a roster where Boyle is a top 9 forward for the Rangers next year.

How many times does Boyle as a top-9 player on this team need to fail before people realize he's a fourth-liner?

The dude was terrible under Torts when he was on the third line, getting PP time, and getting time late in games when we were down a goal.

Boyle had a tremendous year under AV, because we finally had the proper depth to put Boyle where he belongs. On the fourth-line, on the top PK, and nowhere near the ice during PPs and late in the game if we were losing.

We've done the Boyle on a top 9 role w/ Vigneault experiment before. I'm happy where it ended.

I do think he was posturing for more money from the Rangers, though.

2.5 for 4. Bring him back slats.

You need to learn the difference between subjective and objective. There is a difference between us not being on the list he will waive to go to (which we are not), and an idiot commentator thinking that we aren't a contender. One is fact. One is opinion.

He seems to have a hard time accepting reality even when it's been proven time and time again.

The 3rd line under Torts had a much different job than under AV.

Im not saying I want him on the 3rd line. I am saying the Rangers may not have a choice in the matter.

Society really has lowered their standards for the meaning of words. So much so, that writing an entirely subjective sentence with little-to-no reference becomes "reality" that apparently I have trouble accepting.

Thank you for contributing to the troubling trend of lowering the bar of our standards.
