I don't think Carter would be an effective or noticeable player for us. He would be like a fart in a hurricane.

I just don't like playing against him and watching him beat Dubinsky's face in. Is it too much to ask to get him away from playing us and potentially beating someone elses face in?

I'd love Carter over Dorsett. I personally can't stand Dorsett, and want him gone. He is small, can't score, and hasn't won a fight in his life. Get him the hell outta here.

Couldn't agree more. We need size and speed on the fourth line.

Carter is an upgrade over useless Dorsett

lolwut?

Dorsett is fast as **** and Carter is 1 inch taller than him. Literally the only games Carter can score in are against the Rangers.

The hate for Dorsett is absolutely hilarious and mind boggling.

If Stralman doesn't re-sign, what do people think about Mike Weaver? Bump Klein up and put Weaver on the 3rd pair.

See edit. Reported numerous times by credible sources. Let it go.

So you're quoting the same guy who published this less than a week before that quote:

http://nypost.com/2014/02/27/rangers-girardi-hit-roadblock-in-contract-talks/

"Two sources said there are no outstanding issues between the two".

I don't know about you, but Brooks, while many times accurate with his rationale, isn't the most in tune with what's going on with the Rangers FO.

He's a beat writer, who has the ability and tendency to write one angle of a story, and then refute it a week later. It's a part of journalism that capitalizes views by posting something wrong and then correcting it later.

Winnik is also a better player, so I'd rather give him 2mil than stick with DD and his 1.6.

I see DD and his 1.6 as Carcillo & Diaz 1yr/800K each

And what makes you think Carcillo will take 800k?

And why would Winnik stop at 2 mill? He's the second best 4th liner on the market behind Boyle. He could make more.

What is any of this crap based on?

I'd be with it.

He's a great bottom pair D. Very rugged and a great PKer.

I'd rather have Stralman, obviously.

Weaver would be an excellent pick up. He will price himself out of the Rangers range because he had an excellent playoff for the Habs (2nd most important dman for them behind Subban IMO). Any talk of him re-upping with MTL?

I didn't mind him until he started pulling some seriously stupid **** late in the season & during the playoffs.

Stupid penalties. Provides bulletin board material to incentivize other teams to play with a chip on their shoulder against us - see: Dorsett icing Montreal kid in pregame warm ups (Rangers lose 7-4). He's fast alright, and that may be his only redeemable quality. Terrible stick handling. Out of position often. I think he misses the net more often than Del Zotto does on shots, and that's damn near impossible. Can't stay on his feet.

He brings far more negative to the table than positive.

The only (somewhat sarcastic) reason I'd ever consider Carter over him is so that he doesn't destroy the face of another one of our players. He broke Dubi's nose and bloodied up Bickels. Not a good reason, and not likely that we do this, but Dorsett criticism is beyond fair IMO.

Don't ask me for a link but I remember reading (like a week ago) that while it was believed a deal between them would get done, talks hit a snag.

The most recent information is that he wouldn't and that's all that matters, it's not like it was the other way around. Also ignoring the fact that Dreger and others have seconded it AND he'll only go to ducks or hawks as reported TODAY.

Zero percent chance Kesler plays for the Rangers under AV. Give it up.

Christ, all you have to do is google "Kesler Rangers" and it's like the first thing that comes up.

The fact that he's making 750k right now and there was a lot of discussion whether one more slip up and he'd be out of the league after this post season isn't enough to assume that he likely won't be making more than 800k?

That's some excellent work there, detective. Google "Kesler, Rangers" and it must be true.

Also, the most recent stuff is more accurate?

So Boomer reporting that MSL to Rangers had legs during the Olympics and Dreger (ironically a guy you just referenced) giving daily updates all the way leading up to the deadline that there were no legs surely meant that he was the more accurate of the two?

Also Dreger is constantly wrong. He was reporting that Ulf was the favorite for Carolina for days. He constantly spouts **** about how the Maple Leafs are getting huge hauls for their dump players. I'd reckon that over the last year, he has been more wrong than right.

And the "others" that you're talking about, I'd almost bet that they quoted and referenced the NYPost report about the subject and didn't have any first hand knowledge on the situation.

It's a common part of journalism - write something & publish it... let it fester for a few days... refute it several days later... let it fester... come back to it at a later time. It's not correct, but it's common practice.

But whatever you say bossman. Keep on doing you.

People throw **** at the wall to see what sticks and then ***** and moan when Sather doesn't make those moves (which is because they are flat out un****ing realistic).

"I think we should sign Winnik for 2 million". Great. Makes perfect sense. Except the part where another team offers him 3 million. Then commences the annual Sather ***** fest about how he has no vision for this team and he can't make the smart moves other GM's make, etc.
